  • Hat trick of dropped goals by Ford.

I thought dropped goals were out of fashion!
Smart tactics because they are exactly that!
  • Jesus that’s the best drop goal I’ve ever seen!
    Better than Jonny's ?
Certainly not for what it meant. But the kick itself was way better
  • How can an accidental head clash be a red but a deliberate late hit be a yellow? Games become a lottery.
  • Curry's decision is in the harsh-but-fair category. It was daft as opposed up malicious. Daft because he had clear line of sight and had no chance of doing the ball: the best outcome was a standing tackle, within a melee. Fortunately it's been followed by a disciplined half by England, and a half time lead.

I think a yellow card would have been more appropriate than a red, but I don't think he should have any complaints. He shouldn't have made that tackle, in that way, at that time.

Let's hope at some stage we get a match where fifteen England players are still on the pitch at the end.
  • I haven’t watched live rugby in 5-6 years… I don’t remember clashes of heads being a yellow card, let alone red? That’s mad

No problem with trying to cut down on high tackles and especially to the head but the Argentinian was in the air and landed.  Was Tom Curry expected to jump out the way. Pleased that our WC winners agree in the studio.

We have been so undercooked with injuries  suspensions, and poor form going into this WC that the spirit and teamwork was excellent in the 1st half but hard to believe  they won't improve.

JP Doyle explained it well (although I prefer Nigel Owens)
  • There is a lot of inconsistency around head clashes right now. That Curry clash was an accident, you could probably justify a yellow as it was his head that made contact but a red? Be a tough 2nd half for England I’m sure, Argentina can’t play much worse.
  • Ford is so focused and is motoring.
  • Very professional performance from England. Think Argentina are lacking leadership on the pitch

I see what you've done there, but I'm expecting headlines to include 'Ford Fiesta'
  • Ford Edge England to Victory.
  • ‘Ford’s Kugas maul Pumas’
  • Dan on for George sounds like a proper amateur rugby sub.
  • Ford's Focus Escorts England's Escape to victory after Farell forced to Everest following red card
  • Shockingly bad performance from Argentina. England have been inspired, but Argentina have crumbled

To only score 3 points against a side down to 14 since the 3rd minute is unforgivable
  • What a win Well done England  B)

Well that was a very pleasant surprise.

Argentina were absolutely awful, as bad as I worried England might be, but nice to see a decent performance from us to take advantage.

Ford did so well first half, grabbed the momentum that we never lost.

Nice that hopefully that makes the pool stage a lot less stressful.

  • Well I wasn't expecting that. Fair play to ENG; even if they did that with 15 but to be down to 14 is a turn up fo the books
  • Also, always good to beat Argentina at anything.

    6/11/22  England 29  v Argentina 30

    9/11/23 England 27  v Argentina 10

Ford Aspire for life in the fast lane for resurgence England.

i dont know anything about rugby... can anyone explain what it is about our game that we keep getting red cards? It's not that common right? 3 in a row?
  • Ford Fusion with Farrell may happen in next match as scrum half Mitchell goes back to the bench.
  • Possibly the worst Argentinian performance I've seen.

Looking at today's other games, both Romania and Georgia offered more of a challenge, IMHO.

It's important to get the win, though...
  • Whoever thought Saturday night would be better off without a Curry 🤷‍♂️

It felt like Korma for the wrongs of Beckham's red card against Argentina.

It's difficult to understand how the Pumas were so inept as not only were they rated higher at 6th in the world ratings but with wins against NZ and at Twickenham a year ago usually travel well in recent times. Credit to England but with 14 men for near on the whole match the Argentinians should have put England away.

Ireland with the number 1 World rating as of 4/9/23 have to overcome history of never going past a QF(7 times) despite being in every WC since its inception in 1987.

Not as pressured but a better kick.
