can't get my head around how we can do this now but not in knock out football.
Italy didn't qualify for our last knock out tournament.

Philips started slowly but he has started winning second balls and allows Bellingham and rice to control the midfield
I really like Phillips but I think he dropped a bollock by going to City (not that I blame him in the slightest) Liverpool would have been a much better fit for him.

You might be able to drop a Grealish or Maddison in there in some of the easier games but when push comes to shove I want Phillips and Rice in the team.  Unless we magically produce a world class center half in the next 18 months.

Surprised the Italian FA chose Naples. Always thought it was like the Liverpool of England and tried to separate itself from the rest of the country.
Yep, having spent a month in Naples with a football crazy family running a pizza/bistro, they told me they were Neapolitan’s first, Italian’s second.

Although convinced  the authorities decided on Naples because of the extreme passion generated there.

As an aside, their pizza’s were the best I ever tasted! Better than the ‘celebrated’ Neapolitan pizza parlours.
Brave man...passed thru Naples travelling from Rome to the Amalfi coast....the Circumvesuviana station there was very scary with some dodgy characters and lots of warning signs about pickpockets....we got a limo back from Sorrento to Naples
Not brave, necessary, as my 23 year old son had a very bad accident (a 5 meter fall) this was after my daughter’s wedding, he was helicoptered from Sorrento to Naples. We attended the hospital for 4 weeks.

Good news, I now appreciate Naples, we are still in contact with a great Italian family and my son is fully recovered.

This is it. I think GS likes Stones and Maguire as ball playing CBs but he doesn’t trust them enough defensively. Especially when our full backs play high. It’s the sensible option.

Maguire goes for a ball that wasn't there to be won and leaves us open in the middle. Game on.

Grealish missing that open goal in the first half could be costly.
  • Just need to calm down on the ball at the moment... Panicking a bit too much.

It’s worse than that though. He gave it away, fucked the tackle up, the player then  scores from where Maguire should have been defending…..and he picked up a booking.

We just can’t keep persisting with him.

No different to the Euro Final.

We could have been out of sight after the first half that day too

All of a sudden we look very sloppy, lots of panic defending. Just about preventing Italy from getting solid attempts on goal though.
  • Cmon someone has to gamble on Saka's cros... Excellent work

Why's no-one gambled to be in the box for that Saka cross
