Still think Millwall have had a good season, even if it did go a bit wonky at the end.

Don’t fuck it up in the second half
You just know that Foxycafc will be on top of the exam but only 1-0 up, when in the 87th minute a loss of concentration enables William Shakespeare to equalise. Followed by an injury time winner for Keats, leading to a chorus of boos as he leaves the exam room.

Thing for Millwall now is do they carry on building slowly like they have been but run the risk of stagnating or going backwards or take a gamble on spending a bit more to go for promotion. The latter could cause big problems if it went awry. Which would be terrible.

Had something to play for right until the final kick really. More than we can say in a tinpot league! Still very enjoyable to watch the bottle though!

Schadenfreude is the favourite wine of Charlton fan/Critics after Millwall snatched defeat from the Jaws of Victory. It's heady stuff and is very intoxicating.

As West Ham are the biggest *rivals to Millwall according to everyone other than Charlton fans I'm not surprised that the "Blowing of Bubbles" (RIP Michael Jackson) was lost on some CL members by Blackburn fans. I thought it was only Americans that didn't understand irony!

Palace fans don't give a flying fuck about Charlton, they were too busy getting high yesterday evening on the 5 Everton goals against Brighton. The Shandies were flowing last night in the Surrey hills.

Let's face it the reason Millwall missed out on the Play-offs were the 4 points guaranteed and sometimes 6 against the "sleeping giant" of South London.

Sod it, give me another glass of that cheap German wine Schadenfreude so I can join in.

*More rivals off the field as they don't get to play each other too often.

We get why they were singing Bubbles, we just think it's gimp behaviour to do it. Would think the same of anyone singing 'when the saints go marching in' against Pompey.

Our nearest northern rivals after looking east to the Orient.

That lad is incredibly articulate, what on earth is he doing at the den?
The fact he wears a stone island jacket and stands near the away fans should answer that. They're a club who do attract a lot of  'out of towners'...

Please someone tell me the rumour that some Millwall fans were calling their ticket office at half time to enquire about when their play off tickets were going on sale is true.

Think you have had to be a Charlton fan in the Alderton Road end, to really feel the reason we fucking hate them. So I forgive those sharing a bit of a love in on here. Other than us getting promoted, them missing out like this, is fucking a fantastic end to the season.
    Ilderton Road?

Who said lightening never strikes twice! Blackburn beat us 4-3 at the Valley to prevent us going back to the old 1st Division at the first attempt in 1958 and now they’ve put a spanner in the works just up the road with the same score 😁. And yes I was there 😉.
I remember it well very sad day for me. Part of growing up.
That little sod Brian Douglas did the damage.
Really enjoyed today but know how they feel.
I was there for this I think ,we went 1.0 up then 4-1 down and got back to 4-3,remember one of their players doing cartwheels in front of the old main stand.
Remember this well, April 26th 1958…..crowd was 56,435 if I’m not mistaken …..we only had to draw to get back to Div 1 at the first time of asking, they had to win.
I had the privilege of meeting Brian Douglas a couple of years back at Blackburn and mentioned the game to him, he said it could have gone either way.
One of our goals was from a penalty and he sportingly commented that we were robbed by the ref not giving us another clear cut one.
I can also remember my all time favourite player Stuart Leary inexplicably missing a couple of clear cut chances of the kind that he had been scoring all season, his shooting boots let him and us down badly that day, which wasn’t like him at all.
I was only 10 at the time and remember exiting in a huge crowd by the Sam Bartram entrance, walking up Victoria Way to catch the 75 back to Catford……fighting back the tears.
That result was more focal to the future of the club than anyone at the time could ever have have imagined. IMHO the most significant and damaging loss in our history.
Why do I say that, because we then spent years and years in the 2nd Div under the stewardship of the shamefully un ambitious Micheal Glikstein when we really should have strengthened our defence and returned to the top flight the following season, which was where we genuinely deserved to be.
Our free scoring forward line at the time were the best we’ve ever had…..before or since.
    Oh what might have been!!!
    😢

Not been on the thread for a while, just wanted to say yesterday made me so bloody happy. Found myself singing Blackburn Rovers are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen in the shower this morning!

Didn't Blackburn also piss on their 1988 League one champions parade beating them 4-1 in the final game? Remember driving through New Cross that evening after we'd got a 1-1 draw at Chelsea to stay up.

Correct - they did them 4-1, and I was at the Battle of the Bridge, and we had the misfortune to drive down Old Kent Road on way home with Millwall fans dancing about in the middle of the road

Just stuck £10 on Millwall to win, so it might just work.
    It worked!
Even better news, Bet365 paid out as a Millwall win when they went 2 goals ahead  :D

While they ultimately have "failed", coming 8th in the Championship is probably about par from where Millwall should be finishing with their resources, if not higher.

BUT it's a massive opportunity missed because that's the weakest playoff group in years. Clubs with the biggest parachute payments, or backing have really flopped this season, allowing Luton, Coventry and newly promoted Sunderland in. Norwich, Watford and Stoke have had shocking seasons, West Brom couldn't recover from the Steve Bruce handicap they started with, while Swansea just left it too late to start their winning run.
Also feels like we've missed the opportunity of having Jez in our team. Hopefully recruitment across the side will make up for it.

Personally had more run-ins with Luton fans than Spanners back in the day.  I was usually sitting down shaking my head, cursing the football Gods, after yet another stuffing by them to think about anything else tbh.

The two tame-uns on here are top lads and they must be feeling very Charlton this morning, ie. Sick as a chip!

Let's hope we will one day be losing regularly to them again.

Perhaps being massive underdogs when we next play them might take the pressure off!  :-)
