Holden is happy with his existing contract, but if things continue to go well, he'd like to extend it before the end of the season, because he's loved it so far.
Re injuries - all players may be handled differently/individually.
So Inniss & Aneke for example are managed differently. Perhaps more recovery allowed and not pushed too hard to cause another injury.
Inniss is a model professional & Holden wants tough players like him.
Ness is very mature & sensible with an excellent attitude.
AMB has the gloves & it's up to Wollacott to get them back.
Wollacott is returning to training but needs more time for his fracture/break to toughen up.
Aneke could be in the squad for Saturday as he's not far off.
Hayes said Stockley had been frustrated missing chances early in the season & we hadn't played to his strength with a lack of crosses.
Kane will be out for a number of weeks.
Was there no comment about our continual injury curse?
Holden couldn't comment on what has happened in the past, although existing staff have fully briefed him. He is concentrating on the future and managing players to their individual needs.
Might be worth asking Holden how well he knew Rodwell, Scott and Methven before he took our job and who approached him about this one?
I asked Dean who was responsible for him joining as it obviously wasn't TS. He asked why it couldn't be TS. I replied because he knows nothing about football. He didn't really say who was responsible.
Predictable answer but a question that had to be asked.
DH says he speaks to Keith Peacock as he's at the training ground a couple of days a week.
Has a meeting with Curbs set up for when AC gets back from holiday.
Steve Brown is coming to the training ground next week. DH said he'd watched a lot of the CharltonTV games as research and had been impressed by SBs level of detail, thought he got it.
DH said not too proud or thinking he knows it all to ask for help. Said AH is very good on tactics.
Very enjoyable and positive evening, only annoyance was the worlds loudest blues band playing underneath in the second half making it difficult to hear some bits.
Both were really engaging, Hayes you could sense this wasn’t his forte but he was interesting with a dry wit. Holden was as I was expecting, good orator, engaging and wanting to speak passionately, but I wouldn’t fully take what he says as the truth (I’ve no problem with that though).
Couldn’t / wouldn’t answer who championed him for the job. Think he inadvertently tripped up a bit later by saying he got the train down for the Cheltenham game to do a reccy and get a sense for the place. That was 3 days before Garner was sacked so it’s clear (to me) he was lined up by someone before the job was even available (someone correct me please if I got all that wrong?). Suppose that’s football.
Also didn’t really buy his explanation that when having talks he was happy with only a 6 month contract as he didn’t feel any longer was right for the club. He’s the first manager to ever put a club they’ve no affection for ahead of their own package / security.
But a very enjoyable evening and great to have such a full room turnout. Holden has likability and I think a potential momentum manager. No idea whether he’s going to be here long term or not, particularly if the current takeover group he must have been backed by falls away. Bet you could get some real fireworks with him at one of these evenings if things weren’t going well as there’s a definite prickly side there under the bonnet. He seemed like he’d be more than happy having it out with a room full of people!
Suspect he’s good fun on a night out, but seems to have high values, very strong family network etc and I think could be a good influence to a lot of our young players coming through.
It’s also increasingly clear that the work Steve Avery has done over the last 10 years or so has probably been more important to the current existence of our club than most of us realise.
Not saying the above is an accurate account, just my take and most likely others read things differently.

I'd agree with all that.
Missed that the Cheltenham game was before BG was officially sacked but we know it was being privately rumoured long before it was "on the OS"
Think he's working hard to "get Charlton" and get everyone, staff, fans, not just the men's first team on board, very much a leader/manager rather than a coach, like Garner.
Felt that DH thinks events like last night are an important part of his job, unlike Garner who saw them, rightly or wrongly, as a distraction.
He enjoyed being there.
He's engaging, funny, sharp witted, gets what being a fan is and is more Fergie in playing philosophy than Pep.

Thanks for posting. I understood the staffing figures were not high enough, but c£1.8m suggests more than snagging. Sounds like we are missing something major. Maybe some medical equipment like the new oxygen treatment rooms?
Such a shame to have come so far and still not be in touching distance.

I understand that but he could have commented about Kane being injured so soon after joining.

Yes, I’d hoped somebody would have asked him if he thinks we have a worse problem with injuries over time than other similar clubs. We all think we do because we focus on our players. It might not actually be so, and a manager coming in fresh, who says he did a lot of research on us, would have an excellent overview of that. Oh, well…
