For the first season or two , then the novelty wears off and the numbers plummet ,twas ever thusFriend Or Defoe said:I'm shocked by this. I've been to Old Trafford on a Saturday and there's been less than 2k of us there. Also remember laughing at the thought of a big crowd at Ewood. Guess the missing generation theory ws correct. Perhaps we would sell out a load of away end in the premiership the next time around?4 -
This, but the same for a lot of clubs our size to an extent.oohaahmortimer said:

Somehow we've gone from being nearly outnumbered by QPR fans at home in the first round to taking nearly 10k away to Man Utd!3

Given the volume of tickets and the need to make the process as efficient as possible, you would probably need to break them down even more than that, probably down to the individual letters. With each letter further sorted into second letter of the surname order to make it easier for staff to drill down to a specific name.seth plum said:I would like to collect my tickets and coach pass and carpark pass tomorrow or Friday.
I can't face the chaos of Saturday, but if I have to, may I make a suggestion that collection windows have an alphabet notice, as in surnames, A-D here and so on, I would also have a steward monitoring the queues saying A-D this queue, F-K that queue and so on.
Certain letters would have many more tickets than others, for example S could have dozens of tickets under it, while X or Z possibly 1 or 2 at most. So it would be very difficult to keep queues down to a similar length if they were separated by letter.0 -
would make life easier if they opened Sunday from say 10am to 4pm. Surely some staff would be grateful of some overtime.4

Agree. I'm surprised they aren't allowing collections on Friday, but then given that fact its baffling they aren't opening for at least a few hours on Sunday.LargeAddick said:would make life easier if they opened Sunday from say 10am to 4pm. Surely some staff would be grateful of some overtime.0 -

My guess is it’s a logistical issue with likely having to sort 9,408 match tickets plus car and car parking into the purchaser orders. Probably the last time they had to sell a mass of physical tickets was Sunderland at Wembley the first time. As for the Man U cup game that caused me a load of grief with my mother for sending my dad down to the Valley to buy a couple for us. He was gone hours and that was a much simpler process of having a stack of tickets, taking the cash and handing over a ticket from the top of a pile and saying next please. This is more complicated because they’ve sold the tickets already and need to match the paper version up with the virtual one that’s been sold. Should have asked the Army to send a few of their people down0 -
I can’t imagine they didn’t do this when they allocated them. In fact they must have done with the ones they have mailed out. I think this has more to do with not having hundreds of people come down on Friday because they can’t or won’t resource it then.letthegoodtimesroll said:Off_it said:

They don't want loads of fans clogging up The Valley on Friday trying to collect tickets, as that day we'll have all the press there to see our new signings Messi and Bonne unveiled.3

Outstanding work.
Right, I potentially have 2 VIP tickets available to sit in at the hospitality section at Old Trafford, it is in the Manchester United end. It includes padded seats. 4 course meal, booze etc. Value of these are 450 quid each.
Will give them away, if anyone is interested. Please message me privately.4 -

Could I be really cheeky and suggest if anyone does take you up on this, that they make a donation towards the cost of running the PSA testing that's just been announced for before the Fleetwood game? (Assuming that Tracey's going to be fundraising again this year)DubaiCAFC said:Outstanding work.

People intending to collect their tickets on Saturday are reminded that there is a rail strike on Saturday with a half-hourly service between London Bridge & Dartford.

The chaos if it happens might well be blamed on the fans rather than the organisation.
It might be OK though, if sandwich man operates a management by bullying technique.0 -
Ah FFS I didn’t think of that.clive said:People intending to collect their tickets on Saturday are reminded that there is a rail strike on Saturday with a half-hourly service between London Bridge & Dartford.

2 less in the collections queue then!0
-
I wonder if each ‘transaction’ in the collection queue will only take 30 seconds.
I will have to show ID, and then open the envelope to ensure it has match, coach and car park ticket all there.
If anybody encounters a problem there will be a hold up.
I really hope they have a bit of a think and arrange collection tomorrow as well. Could be from the normal window’s couldn’t it?0 -
Most people will take the envelope and leave the window. I don’t think you should consider yourself a typical “customer”, Seth.seth plum said:I wonder if each ‘transaction’ in the collection queue will only take 30 seconds.

That car park is tight as fuck parking in there at the best of times (on matchday)1

If you take the envelope away and then find it is incomplete you will have to join the queue again won’t you?Airman Brown said:
