There'll be more people outside the ground collecting tickets than watching the game.shirty5 said:
I wouldn’t be confident in the postal system at present so there’s a fair chance of a few hundred being in your prediction.ElfsborgAddick said:

Collection on Saturday depending how many people have chosen that option will be interesting. Be there early would be a good shout2 -
I assume I could pick them up Monday if it’s bonkers Saturday?Airman Brown said:

So have they’ve already received the first batch of tickets? If so where are they?Ducktapeshoerepairs said:

fair play United - they didn't have to give any extra at all. Fully expect us to sell the extra allocation out as well.
Looking back to the night of the draw the amount of people that said in the thread we would barely sell 5k and it would be a total embarrassment for us...6 -

About 99% of folks said that about Brighton. About 75% said we'd never sell out. Have faith.

That is awesome support. I would have been happy if we took 4k up there. Now who’s going to get 9k people to sign Twist and shout.6

Pain in the arse. Specifically chose collection because of postal issues and was getting Jnr to pick up this week as I can’t make Saturday due to rail strikes. He can’t pick up on Saturday as he’s on a 12hr shift trying to save the lives of the masses in SE7. Always assumed they’d be available during the working week. Oh well, looks like a phone call tomorrow to try and arrange a collection at OTAirman Brown said:

Mobile units seems to be a sensible idea, imagine it’ll be sorted alphabetically. Open all day too, without tempting fate, think the club have got this spot on so far.8 -

Will be interesting to know where the additional 2000 tickets are likely to be located? The rest of that upper tier behind the goal?
Watching all this excitement with extreme jealousy. Please make sure to make some noise for those of us who can’t travel. 🙏3 -
Massive sign of the underlying support for buyers.Possibly 9000 there and I know, including me, at least 6 regulars (including season ticket holders) who aren’t going.5

I am happy to admit that I said we would not sell out however I am over the moon we have and will be well supported.Manic_mania said:fair play United - they didn't have to give any extra at all. Fully expect us to sell the extra allocation out as well.

I did read other comments such as mine but cannot recall anybody including myself saying it would be an embarrassment.5 -
I’m away and missing this and would never miss a game like this, considered flying back early from South Africakentred2 said:Massive sign of the underlying support for buyers.Possibly 9000 there and I know, including me, at least 6 regulars (including season ticket holders) who aren’t going.
my mate next to me isn’t coming either him his dad and uncle would also normally be there1 -
To be fair I was cross quoting different people when I say that - had many an LOL after the draw when I said we would easily sell out, the embarrassment part was relating to the logistical side which I accept remains to be seen (but what the club has done so far re- laying on transport etc hasn't been too bad at all)eaststandmike said:

@Bedsaddick was the first to make a prediction for how many we’d sell from a quick skim on the other thread…
“Can’t see us taking more than 3K there for a midweek game . Getting tickets won’t be a problem.”

Likewise, I thought we would really struggle to sell them. But even if we had ‘only’ managed 4-5k it would not have been an embarrassment at all, given the recent and current circumstances.eaststandmike said:

I think it not being on TV has helped a bit and I probably underestimated the generation who have never seen us play there, or anywhere of note.
Cracking support, let hope we at least go down with a fight. The travelling hordes deserve that.6 -
I thought we would do well to sell 5k , so a great effort. Let's hope it can show a potential buyer of the club , what potential the club has.0
-
As an aide, when is the last time we have got anywhere near these numbers in recent times outside of London without free travel being provided?
Boro 05
Blackburn 06 (?)
Forest 00
Port Vale 98
All free travel from memory…
Was Liverpool midweek in 96 free travel?0 -
I think this is a big piece of the puzzle.The_Organiser said:

The last time we played there was in 2007.For me personally, being 14 y/o at the time, I would’ve probably not been allowed to travel even if I wanted to!We have a whole generation of adult fans (18-30 ish) who’ve never had the opportunity to go and see our club play at these grounds.5 -

This will be a great advert for the club. I'm gutted to be missing it!0

And even for those of us who have gone, it's an eternity since we were last there. And in the PL the away allocations are much smaller, and 20000 ST holders back then made it extra hard to get tickets too.Callumcafc said:

The last big Cup away games at PL clubs from memory were Fulham and Tottenham (at the old ground), nice grounds but a step down from the glamour of Old Trafford0
