I'm not saying he's involved in the day to day running of the Club and is necessarily an expert in this field himself, but he'll probably know where to direct TS should the Sandgaard's seek his advice. I doubt they'd be 'winging it' as it were.

That's right. As far as I know he's still non-exec director at Charlton. (What's the difference between a Non-Exec director and a shopping trolley? He is listed as "non-practising" so I assume he has not renewed his certificate and has left the profession.

This could of course all go in the gutter if we don’t continue to get some decent bodies through the door - but it does at the moment feel like recruitment mistakes of the past have been rectified and we have a clear plan that we are working towards.

I don’t think you can have one without the other for sustainable success. You can point to Powell under Jimenez and Bowyer under RD, but it wasn’t a blueprint for long term success.
Not to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm re: Garner, who I think is a good apt, all we’ve done so far is sign 3 out of contract players in League 2. They, and the additional players we bring in under Garner may get us promoted, but I need to see it now before I believe it. The last 2 years have been toilet. Granted, TS inherited a shit show, and the amount of money he’s stuck in is very generous. But I think that we have ongoing issues on the non playing side of the club that keep cropping up, we have an uncertain future on the playing side, albeit one that could possibly turn into dynamic, forward thinking, attacking football and I don’t think the 2 are a good combo for success

Just over 4 weeks to go before the first game & our squad has hardly been improved. Unless either a seismic shift is made on recruitment& we suddenly bring in 3 or 4 quality additions or Garner somehow turns around a pitiful midfield into a goal scoring machine I fear the Championship may still be light years away.
Those transfers are coming. You’re mad if you think that’s all we’re bringing in. Those are just the ones we’ve able get done early and having three new faces has us ahead of most of the competition at this stage.
Anyway, this isn’t the transfers thread but somehow it’s become the place for anyone who fancies a moan about anything to congregate for the day. We’ll see if that’s still the case tomorrow.
