I find it somewhat surprising that TS doesn't know he's selling Stockley.
    Has no one told him?

  • Glad we have no plans to sell Stockley. It would be an act of madness IMO.
Where did you hear that. Any actual.quotes from the management or was it said by SG or TS in their interviews this week. Because my feeling is, and TS said himself, we dont want to keep just pumping it forward to the tall guy up front when plan A fails.
TS said it today in SLP

Transfer window opened today, chill ffs.
What's that got to do with the price of fish? 🐟
  • At least we can fit the entire squad on a small helicopter for the Spain trip.

    AND it's red!  Rock on.

  • Ciaron Brown ticks some boxes, especially if Purrington isn't staying.
  • Pretty sure I spotted Stockley at Woburn Centre Parks this morning

...all but confirms he is moving to McDons next junction up the M1

Have to admit I’ve barely seen him but is he not more of a defensive left back than someone who can get up and down the flank? Joe Rafferty is someone I’d like though.

He has a lot of value for us. If we were to let go of him it would have to be for an astronomical amount.

Goes without saying but some will see that as TS encouraging offers.

I wonder what that amount is, £2m, £3m?

If he does go I’d like to think we’ll get a replacement in first.
Didn't sandgaard say similar about Burstow ?
  • It could be argued Burstow isn’t that good so we got a decent deal for him. He has potential but isn’t at the level we need to start for us, he offered very little outside the box.

Alsk have to take into account with interest from various clubs higher up it’s unlikely he’d have signed a new contract. I think he had another year and a half left when he signed for Chelsea, so his value wouldn’t necessarily have increased.

For a supposed "professional" sports journalist, what a childlike layout of a Report, either it is the longest ever football team in the world, or he hasn't mastered basic punctuation, not a single comma, full stop..nothing, sorry but true to form Nicko -2/10, must do better..
  • Coming from him it will be a non-story about how we might be linked with player x should he not sign for club y or z.

I can guarantee there will no actual news or substance.
  • Half expecting it to be Bostock or Marquis. Or someone we're one of 5 sides interested in.

He is a bit of a Purrington to be honest, probably a better center back than Ben though.

I think we will probably play a 3 and a 4 next season.

  • I know its Nixon but Id be impressed if we were successful given that he mentions Championship interest.
  • Lets face it, if Swansea and Reading are in for him we have no chance, unless Gallen can pull a rabbit out if the hat
  • I would definitely take him given all the reasons that have been discussed to death on this site, but he didn’t pull up too many trees this season for a side that was relegated which means championship interest to me strikes me as agent talk. He’d compliment our philosophy well and would go well with Lavelle, Deji and Ness. Think we’d definitely need one more in if he did arrive.
  • Had seen Swansea interested in him for a while but they signed another centre back yesterday. Would be a good signing but won’t be that disappointing if we miss out considering we have Lavelle, Inniss and Deji so right sided centre backs we are pretty set
  • Whoever offers the most money will have his signature
  • As long as the offer is competitive, I would imagine we should be in the running. It’s not necessarily a foregone conclusion. As mentioned above, geography could be important, as could the amount of minutes offered.

Are Reading or Swansea wanting him for the first team or for the bench?

Not even including the possibility that one or both sides could be entirely made up by the agent in order to get us to up our offer.
It will be money. Pure and simple
  • We might not be the most attractive prospect at the moment but Reading is not the team to be joining right now. They're not going to be able to spend any money this season, just frees and loans so it's going to be a weird one. They're in a real financial mess and I don't think they'll stay up this season unless something pretty remarkable happens. I think if I was linked with a L1 team looking to mount a promotion challenge or a Championship team limping towards oblivion I'd probably pick the one hoping to have a good season with a sustainable looking future.
