For all those happy to dismiss the Plymouth scoreline as an outlier might want to take note of the other sides that have played against 10 men this season, some for longer. None of them have scored 5 in fact most have struggled.
I think we should most definitely be including the result in our thinking and give the team a little credit for taking Plymouth apart
Yeah but but but Plymouth could have scored against us when it was 1-0 so had it stayed 11v11 it probably would have ended 2-2 zzzzz
Plus we must have faced them when they had a bad day, rather than us being good
Oh yeah we're their bogey team too... So when you factor in all those points, it means we basically lost!!
I was chatting to someone last week (Sunderland fan) and he reckons us and a few others are looking at Jack Diamond 🤔 plays on the left wing so not sure whether to believe it or not, unless Kirk moves on.
Well that's not going to happen, he signed on loan for Lincoln 🙄
I'm interested to hear about any further updates from "credible" sources about Gilbey/JFC. It's very frustrating that the barrier to bringing players in is shifting those two.
Astonished that no-one has taken a punt on JFC. Maybe the injury history represents just too much of a gamble for most teams?

Would you pay a fee for a player that had started 1 league game in 16 months?

I don't believe it is a barrier. No salary cap in place and 3 places still available under the squad number. There will be incomings before Friday come what may despite what's been said about that

What isn't mentioned is how we won the penalty. A goal bound shot being tipped over the bar. If that went in, we would have been 2 up against 11 and I think we would have seen out the game. I do t think plymouth were good enough to come back from 2 down
Alex Baptiste ex QPR and Bolton CB on a short term deal until Jan and Macaully Bonne on a season long loan from QPR before deadline day.
Don’t really know much about Baptiste. Bonne imho won’t be any better than Stockley.
Not better, but Bonne would, at the very least, be cover and that's the minimum requirement. We're holding on to all our pennies right now - I still remain staunchly in the camp that Stockton would make us much better in the now, but the finances (plus other things discussed infinitely here) don't add up for him. Main thing I wanted was cover.
Baptiste, similarly, is just cover - could be trash, could be the next CB-T. Somewhere in the middle would be fine.
I could reasonably see this being our business before the window closes and being reasonably OK with that, but a bit disappointed about not having invested a bit more. I think we're on the cusp of being playoff/promotion contenders, and we'll need a decent share of luck to make that more certain.

The CB we should be looking at (albeit unlikely) is Yoann Barbet. Left-footed, can also play LB. For those concerned about fitness, in the 20/21 season he played every single minute of the league campaign. Don't think QPR wanted to get rid of him so it is audacious but he's lived in London for the last 7 years so worth a look.

If I had known living in London qualified you for "being worth a look" I would never have moved to Kent... What could have been...

Moving to Kent is still fine. Being called "Pudds" might rule you out mind...

That's the least of my issues.
I also fail the CL height test, I am the same age that Jason Pearce was being called past it and I'm more of a Le Point than a Dobson in ability.
I could be called a cost-saving signing as I could work part time in the commercial team if the rest of the squad was fit and then drop into the playing squad when injuries hit.
My first act in my commercial role would be to cut the ticket prices, so I'd maybe get a Wilson-esk chant of "his football is shite, but the pricings alright"

All joking aside,
Ronnie could have been perfect for Ben Garners style of football.
I reckon he would be more successful as a striker than Stockley.

Signing Scott Parker and playing him centre forward, centre half or left back?
