Is anyone like me when Charlton win you just don’t want that feeling to end? I remember when I started taking a work colleague who is originally from overseas, who is now a friend and Charlton fan, to games and walking up Floyd Road after a rare win at the time) and trying to explain that buzz.
For as long as I can I try and relive that feeling. Love reading the players social media posts, and watching our highlights and post match videos over and over again. Already watched the highlight 5 times this morning, and will plenty more times, feels slight excessive ha ha.

and then the fucking Ashes started but I’ve still got a warm glow prolly cos I was up all night watching that shit and I’m still wearing my thermal vest that I wore to The Valley
After a scrappy first 20 minutes or so that was one of the most complete performances of the last few years, solid in defence, pressing all over the pitch, a tigerish yet creative midfield and a fast, mobile, threatening attack. I'm sure others will have posted already, but Walton in their goal absolutely kept them in it until late on. Alex Gilbey was astonishing, Conor Washington a nightmare (for them) and virtually everyone else well on form.
If TS doesn't give Jacko at least an 18 month contract after that performance I'll be amazed.
I don't usually comment on refs but last night's was outstanding. No frenetic gestures, hasty decisions or flurry of cards that hinder the flow of a game - just calm, authoritative decision making that enhanced the action.
Another 3 points against Cambridge and we'll again have the league leaders looking anxiously over their shoulders.
keep winning and suddenly that seemingly unmovable big gap between us and the play offs will disappear pretty quickly
It's important we follow it up with an equally good performance against Cambridge (who won 5-0 away last night).
There's no point raising your game to play Plymouth and Ipswich off the park if you then drop points to Shrewsbury, Morecambe and Cambridge. We need to sustain it and go on another run.
Superb all round performance last night. First 20 mins was a non-event but once we got a good grip and the first goal, there was only one team in control. Some slick football that should have led to more goals but their keeper was in outstanding form and kept them in it.
No complaints about the ref … I thought he leant towards us and we got most of the 50-50 decisions
The ref was good but I didn’t think he favoured us over them. The difference was the Charlton players were so intent in getting stuck in and getting the ball, riding a tackle and shrugging it off, it made it easier for the ref to judge, ie if a charlton player went down and didn’t get up then it was pretty much nailed on it was a foul, whereas if a Ipswich player went down and didn’t get up it was often play acting, some of which was so embarrassing to watch the ref should have been dishing out yellow cards to their players
This pic actually makes me emotional! So many players now just run off on their own when they score. Gilbs thought about a knee slide then chose to go with his heart and mind!

An excellent all-round team performance with some exceptional performances. It would be difficult and unfair to pick out one player but, if I had to, it would be Connor Washington. I’m just wondering where all those fans have gone who were screaming about Charlton not spending silly money like Ipswich were before the season started. Quality not quantity, my friends!

Bit harsh I think Sammy. Leko's been out injured and is only just getting some minutes back into his legs; Purrington is a wing back and bombing forward to great effect, with Akin Famewo sweeping around behind him according to plan. We were exposed a few times on both sides of the pitch but dealt with their occasional threats very assuredly.

Watson again along side the coaching staff. It’s been mentioned before, but the noise coming out is that he is a great asset around the training ground. If his impact on the pitch has been underwhelming, off it, it feels like it’s perhaps been understated.
Should have won this one 4 or 5 nil..Ipswich got off light imho, and have their keeper to thank for keeping the score respectable, Washington was unbelievable and they couldn't handle him, great assist prior to a well taken goal from Stockley, and Gilby not only scored but prior to that chased all the way back to the halfway line to retrieve the ball set up the attack and assist in his own goal. Post match Stockley spelt out the way that the tightness of team spirit is overwhelming, well played one and all, on to Cambridge and the next 3 points....
I thought everyone understood the wing backs role? Of course when the ball is lost up field Purrington will be out of position. That's why it's important that Dobson covers as well as the LCB. Purrington is so good at not getting picked when in an offensive position.
DJ early problem with his leg hampered him but he did well defensively, and Leko did struggle to get to the pace of the game but to say he was disinterested and bored is just wrong.

If Gilbey played at a higher level they'd have him in for drug testing every week. Ridiculous energy. Also Dobson really reminded me of Cullen last night in the way he just broke up everything and always seemed to be in the right place to pick up a loose ball, which was great

I think Dobson could be the most unathletic looking footballer when he's walking. His arms are too long and his back is always hunched, like early man. Then he as soon as he gets a sniff of a football he bolts upright and turns into a machine. I absolutely love him.

What I liked most about them is the way that to a man, they were showing for the ball. They played like a team in form and the individual movement from the wing backs to striker to get in the game and create something was too much for our lot. It’s one thing doing what Morsy and Evans do in showing for it only to give it instantaneously back to Edmundsen or Nsiala but the Charlton midfielders (particularly Gilbey who was my MOTM) were getting the ball and looking to create, looking to drive forward or spread it wide.
For pure creativity alone, we can learn a lot from them as they created plenty of chances through simple passing into space and movement from players off the ball. We’ve only really got Chaplin and Celina who link up that huge gap between Evans/Morsy and Bonne. Whereas the Charlton midfielders weren’t allowing that huge space by moving up the pitch with the ball and being hungry for it. The second goal pretty much encapsulated the entire game for me. Simple football from Charlton, excellent movement from Gilbey to link up with the strikers and get himself in the game, excellent hunger to win the ball and keep it and then a good finish.
I did see earlier tonight UnstableBlue suggested Charlton were sh*t and whilst it was clear he was just very very angry about things and his judgement was swayed, I personally think Charlton were arguably the best team we have played this season. Yes we made them look better being how poor we were and they’re not as good footballing wise as a Rotherham perhaps but they do the basics very very well and when you combine that with a clear playing style (the aforementioned simple football and consistent movement through the team) and then having that desire and hunger that we lacked and I found myself annoyingly quite impressed. Wouldn’t at all surprise me if they have a run and end up as that team that challenges late every year to nick a playoff spot."

He’s been unbelievably consistent under JJ too.
Every game he does the same job to pretty much the same level, a real quality player to have in the side.

There's no point raising your game to play Plymouth and Ipswich off the park if you then drop points to Shrewsbury, Morecambe and Cambridge. We need to sustain it and go on another run.
