Jack Draper dominated that final from start to finish. 6-2 6-2. The Dane Holger Rune underperformed in the final but was excellent in his semi final against Medvedev but was 2nd best in the final. Draper should garner so much confidence from winning Indian Well. Taking out Fritz, Alcaraz and Rune is so impressive.
The next big step will be the 5 set grand slams. SF in the US slam is his best so far and only the 2nd round is his record at Wimbledon so he needs to go deep in the tournament this year.
If his stamina and body holds up he has a power game and that left handed serve is a big weapon.

His belief should continue to grow.
Agreed. And he beat Shelton too.
True, Draper had to beat many high ranked players including Ben Shelton 7-5 6-4 who reached his highest ranking of 12th in early March.
I recall Andy Murray bursting on the scene and initially his fitness was an issue. He then became one of the fittest players if not the fitest. That is an area you can do something about and it looks like Draper is.

Dart and Kartal both fail to qualify for Miami Open. Fearnley and Harris in final qualifying round for men's event.
128 start, so how did those with a top 100 ranking not get in the draw automatically?
It’s only 96. All seeds get a first round bye. Same with Indian Wells.
Ah yes, that is true. But world 90 then? Kartal currently 63 but maybe not high enough when the draw was made?
Yeah I’m not sure - there’s about 20 spots for the eventual qualifiers, the wildcards and the protected ranking players so only about 75 will get in automatically.

I wonder what the split is between qualifiers and wildcards. And who the wikd cards are. That said, the UK give plenty of wildcards at Wimbledon to British players
Players certainly suffer once their ranking drops and they start having to qualify for events. Norrie made the main draw for both Indian Wells and Miami but his ranking has now dropped to 83 so he needs to start picking some points up.
Raducanu has been treated very favourably in terms of invites - not sure how she'd stomach having to play in qualifiers or Challenger events. This will be a make or break year for her...

True about Raducanu. She needs to manage her game time, so getting invites is good but it might do her game and confidence more good playing more matches against people around her level.
She beat 2 players ranked above her at the AO then was smashed by Swiatek, as many others have been, though.
She hasn't done well since of course, but the only time (I think) she has been beaten by someone ranked lower than her was in Singapore - so all her other matches have been against players ranked above her, which is a tough call. Yes, she is capable on her day of beating players ranked above her, but it is not great for her confidence if she keeps getting beaten, even if it is by a player above her

Fearnley and Harris trying to qualify for the mens main draw. Dart and Kartal also trying to qualify.
Two of Murray's former team are now working with Jack, physiotherapist Shane Annun and fitness coach (and Charlton fan) Matt Little
