Firstly it was so good to see a match live . Sometimes last season I didn't post here because the TV gives you an incomplete view of the game .
MacGillivray 6 A clean sheet but my heart was in my mouth when he cleared the ball to Bannan in the closing stages Matthews: 7 A solid game defensively and a couple of useful forays forward Inniss: 7 What a presence Ryan is . We need to manage his game time . Like Stockley he is a potent presence in both boxes . Famewo: 6 Sometimes his distribution looked suspect Gunter: 7 Clearly we need a new left back but Chris wasn't too bad , He even delivered some left footed crosses . Clare: 7 I like him . Hope he will grow with us Morgan: 6 Slightly disappointing . He had a couple of opportunities but wasted them Dobson: 7 A good start , Clare and Dobson will serve us well . Washington: 7 Conor is a player who you appreciate more watching live . He gets through a lot of work . Stockley: 8 MOTM . Defensively at corners he was immense . Along with Inniss he will be key this season Jaiyesimi: 6 Some good touches
Clayden. In squad terms I see him as a replacement for Doughty . He is fast left footed and raw .

Adkins - not sure lack of subs was tactical, an Adkins thing or a sign to Sandgaard or combination of all 3 things 🤔

Morgan: 5.5 Bowyer used to criticise him for his defending. The area he needs to train at is his finishing. Dobson: 6 very defensive which is fine but needs to put his presence on the game a bit more. Washington 5 not a winger and will always want to go on his natural right foot making it easy for the full back to mark him. too far away from Stockley to create any partnership. Stockley: 6.5 worked hard both up front and at the back. had 1 opportunity. needs support but with Adkins one and only tactic/formation (karl Robinson like) its going to be hard to find that support. Jaiyesimi: 5 didn't deliver. didn't get the ball much to deliver. step overs a plenty.
Referee: 3 - where do they find these refs?? He must never played football in his life with some of the things he was giving. Both teams, especially Wednesday could easily kid the ref into blowing for a foul.

What actually happened (just in front of me) was Famewo received the ball from MacGillivray and for some reason passed back to him in the same manner which cost us last season. The pass put the keeper under pressure and led to a very hurried clearance. When the play stopped MacGillivary had some sharp words with Famewo, probably telling him to just clear the ball.
