Not sure what the ref could do about the fouls, both teams matched up and nullified each other. My main criticism of him was a couple of clear shirt pulling incidents which by the letter of the law were penalties. Soft or not, you are not allowed to do it.
MacGillivray: 4.5 nothing to do in terms of saves, but could have been more decisive with the ball at his feet. giveaway to bannan could have cost us. Matthews: 6.5 solid, and at least one really good delivery Inniss: 6 mostly solid, and a nuisance in their box, but some needless silly fouls to give them possession Famewo: 7.5 very good defensively, and a wonderful run and pass second half Gunter: 6 did a decent job out of position, struggled to make an impact going forward on his wrong foot Clare: 7.5 impressive debut, our best midfielder today Morgan: 5.5 mixed deliveries from set pieces, got in some good attacking positions, but will be really disappointed with his finishing Dobson: 6 if i'm honest didn't notice him loads, but i guess that's not the worst thing in his position Washington: 7 thought he worked really hard, and actually made some impressive defensive contributions. not sure he offered loads going forward, but hopefully that will come against less organised opposition. Clare: 7 didn’t notice for first 40 mins, but after then, he drove us forward, and was one of the big reasons we was on the front foot in the 2nd half. Promising start Morgan: 6 worked very hard today, and did a lot of the dirty work, which he has been accused of not doing in the past. But lack of composure was missing badly today.. hopefully that comes, as it is a big season for him. He has been given the chance, now it’s down to Albie Dobson: 8 best player on the pitch, great covering and protecting the back 4, excellent composure on the ball, very good range of passing, reads the game very well. Very rarely gives the ball away or caught in possession Washington: 6 worked very hard, but decision making and composure was missing today. Stockley: 7 the big man put his head on everything today, great choice as captain, played with great passion.. we went a bit long to him to often, but not really his fault. But had the best chance of the game, and he should hit the target and make the keeper work! Jaiyesimi: 7 looked our most dangerous player, every time he got the ball, it scared them. If he can get the decision right, we have a player on our hands. But he has to start assisting and scoring. Referee: 5 he didn’t let the game flow, very stop start..

Famewo: 7 got skinned by Bannan but apart from the did very well, lovely run from defence to set up stockley. Gunter: 6 did well out of position Clare: 7 like him a lot, good energy. Morgan: 6.5 makes us tick, didn’t quite go his way today but he will be huge for us this season. Dobson: 7 no frills and like a quicker DP. Good signing. Washington: 6 in and out but works so hard, helped Gunter out a lot. Stockley: 7.5 MOM colossus today at both ends. Jaiyesimi: 7 some good some bad but he scares defenders. Like him a lot. Referee: 4 clearly never played a game of football in his life, fell for every trick in the book.
