Cameron Brannagan finally looks set to leave Oxford, on his way to Blackpool.
He'll be a big miss for them.
He has done a u turn and signed a three year contract back at Oxford.
Find it amazing he is still there. Best midfielder I have seen in L1 and at 26 he is at his peak and will become less in demand in 2-3yrs time.
Clearly a Championship quality player and Blackpool would have done well getting him. Why he wants to stay at Oxford and their 3 sided ground and gobby manager I don't get.
Shitting all over the rules, and LaLiga lets them because they want a Spanish team to win in Europe.
There's no way a club with that amount of debt should be able to have a side that includes:
Ter Stegen
Koundé
Christensen Alba
Busquets
De Jong
Kessié
Ferran
Raphinha
Dembele
Depay Aubameyang
Lewandowski
And on top of that big earners like Umtiti, Pjanic and Pique
They can afford it now as they signed a huge deal with Spotify and also sold off 25% of future tv rights for well over 400m.
The issue of course is that by selling future rights it's basically kicking the can down the road. It's solving their problem now, but will create problems in the future because when that money runs out (and it will), where do they then turn?
Impressive that Oxford can turn down £1.2m bids. An Oxford fan I know reckons Gobbo has the 4th biggest budget in the league this season and expectations on KR are consequently very high.
As a left footed winger . Would they have signed him if they were in the mix for JRS?
Nesta Guineas Walker signs for Reading.
The third winger they’ve signed recently, makes JRS even less likely.
Jones is a tricky little devil .. saw him just the once v us at Coventry .. gave us problems .. had a lot of injuries lately .. could well turn out to be a v good signing, IF he's fit
