Clearly we have recruited two or three good players but our failure at this stage to secure another striker, left back and back up keeper is shocking. If we are to seriously challenge at the top end of the table then this was a minimum. We are now somewhat desperate and may be held to fandom by some clubs, players and agents. I hope it turns out better than my pessimistic view!
What slightly worries me is, if NA is in charge of the side tonight in the mickey mouse cup, and we trying to make some late signings due to maybe our other targets getting snapped up elsewhere during the day (or failing medicals, unable to agree personal terms) how's he going to agree, as part of the 4 man recruitment team who comes in, or even has a conversation with the player? Due to the game tonight I would expect our signings (if there are any) to be done before 6 pm and not in the final hours scramble.
Over to JJ and euell for this evening would be the way to go, would give persona we’ve tried to get the business done all evening, even if it falls flat.

Striker and left back yes, backup GK not really an issue - you can still bring them in on emergency loans and there will be free agents out there.

Wouldn't he just use the phone? I remember watching the Sunderland documentary and on deadline day it was just the chairman and DoF in a room making calls, including to the manager.

And that worked out well for them didn't it....
I suppose its better than Southall, Amis, Bowyer and Gallen looking glumly at each other.
They’re shouldn’t be any games that happen on the evening of transfer deadline day. Badly thought out by the EFL.
Papa John’s Trophy? Likely to be a bigger crowd at the open training session, seriously doubt this disrupts any transfer activity.
Nobody cares about this game except the young players likely to be involved. I won’t even be following the score.
Does seem strange that all these Premier league U21 teams are playing tonight though. Then you remember who organised this total shower in the first place.

I remember the manager telling the chairman not to pay 3 million for Will Grigg because he wasn't worth it. And the chairman did it anyway: "What if he scores a hat-trick in the play-off final!"
Not sure the phone was the problem in that situation.

I feel the blame lies firmly with the phone. Looks like Mr Grigg is off to replace old Omar at Donny today.
Edit: Helder Costa has been made available for loan this morning, obviously he isn't coming here but could have a trickle down effect.

I'm fully stocked for a crazy 29 hours 🤪
My educated guess is 1 perm and 2 loans.
We need another wide man to allow Clayden to potentially go on loan but I was hoping for a left footer.
