So, a minimum of 8 of the 22 players named in our squad need to be Home Grown. Are we confident that we can fulfil this requirement? Who are the 8 Home Grown players?
We haven't scored a goal in the second half of 5 League match this season. That includes 3 home matches. We desperately need more fire power to bring off the bench in the 2nd half because in most games we won't be leading by HT. If others can't see how much we miss Chuks Aneke then I'm discombobulated.

"Currently, to be classified as homegrown one must be on an English team for at least three years before the age of twenty-one"

Home Grown is in the UK, not at Charlton. Most of our squad cover that
Just over 24 hours to go until we know for sure what of the many opinions of our transfer window was most accurate.
At present we are woefully short so we can only be hopeful that’s it’s a manic Tuesday tomorrow and Tommy kicks it off checking in on social media from the snacks aisle at Makro.

I don't think I've seen a single poster saying we don't miss Aneke and it's literally said every day by someone.
We don’t have good enough midfielders to play 433, nor enough goals from wide areas. Saturday wasn’t perfect but it was a lot better
Not sure I agree with that, we've now got Lee and possibly Arter. It's questionable yes, but the depth in central midfield will probably be the strongest in the whole squad. With Lee/Gilbey it completely changes the dynamics of the midfield that we saw in the first few games. If we can get those two chipping in with Kirk, DJ, Washington, Stockley and a new attacking player then suddenly it's not looking too bad.
Sorbate Thomas, remember him ? Boreham Wood. They wanted 2k or so. What ever it was we offered less. Eventually Huddersfield paid that in January. This season 4 assists and a goal in 5 Championship games this season.
Looks like a good player on the highlights
We were interested. The moment a Championship club came in we didn’t have a chance.
At the time we had a wage cap and got in Liam Miller who done very well for us in the short time he was here.
A shame we didn’t get him, but we didn’t stand a chance as soon as Huddersfield were serious.

We bid in the first window but didn't think he was worth the amount that Boreham Wood said they wanted. Cawley reported on 16/10/2020 Charlton had made a six figure bid. Borehamwood told SG what would secure him. They offered to accept stage payments.
Huddersfield brought him on 13/01/21.
So it is rubbish to say we didn't stand a chance once a Championship side showed up.
How would you know that detail mate?
Are you doubting it ? Firstly I remember we bid . Must have been 200k though I wrote 2k. Cawley reported it. Obviously. I remember Huddersfield got him in the January window. Then I got the dates on the Internet easy. I checked the facts.
It is what I have said all window. We often don't bid enough. I can understand it if the players asks for wages we don't want to pay but a 100k or 200k on a fee seems selling yourself short.
Also saw a goal Eisa scored on Saturday. Nifty foot work. I thought people on here said he was slow and useless. He didn't see. Any of that.
We offered 200k and they wanted 500k, that’s a hell of a lot of money for a non league player who has never played above that level. Can absolutely see why we didn’t up our offer.

American u20 international. QPR signed him to initially play for their u23s so no surprise he's not yet broken into their first team.

Yes you are right 1990.
I'm watching Wrexham v Notts County and Paul Mullin and Kyle Wootton(county) have scored good goals and both are good movers as well. Mullin is the Hollywood signing and Wootton looks like he can play at a higher level at 24.

I don't think anyone said he was slow, or useless. Lots of people, including me, said he wasn't worth the money especially considering the way we play and isn't as good as some people make out. He also has had one good spell in the last 3 years.
But you feel free to accuse people of being disingenuous and continue to spout your own bollocks.

I've heard decent thing about Wootton, not sure he's ready for a step up to League 1 though. Admittedly I've seen him once and although he scored he wasn't particularly good.

Not really. Us making an offer doesn't mean that the player will accept it, nor does it preclude another club making an offer. So if there was Championship interest, most players are going to pass on a League One move in favour of the increased wages.
You are entirely wrong. You said we stood no chance once a Championship team bid. Now you are trying to argue he may have turned us down himself. If so there would have been no Championship team in sight. Stop inventing nonsense . It is not an argument on a fact but a mere supposition.
I literally have no idea what the fuck you are on about. Firstly, I never said that we had no chance - someone else did. Secondly, the player turned is down specifically because there WAS a Championship team in sight. It's really not rocket science, though I think basic arithmetic is probably beyond you based on most of what you post.
You've got either a lot of nerve, no sense if irony or both of you of all people are accusing anyone of making up nonsense.

My, my, you again. Did I mention you when I said some said him slow . You by your 1 good season in 3 indicate a degree of a lack of usefulness. So mot bollocks. I didn't accuse anyone. All I said was some people. You have proved me correct with one season in 3 with success. I have no idea if he would fit. A lot of lifers say we need another goal scorer. I saw nifty foot work and good movement. That us all I said. I just knew someone would bit and say it was bollocks . How can what I reported as seeing as bollocks? As for disingenuous, it was my phrase not yours so how the hell is that being disingenuous?
"I thought people on here said he was slow and useless"
Your wrong on two counts pal, one you don't ever think, second no one, not anyone said he was slow.
I didn't realise you have copyrighted disingenuous, I will refrain from using it in the future.

I bought him in Football Manager for Charlton. So you could say, I scouted him. I am the new Tommy Driesden!
