West Ham may be signing Tagliafico tomorrow, which means Manny Longelo isn't going to get a game there this season. Just the type of attacking left-back we should be in for, can play further forward too.3

At the time we had a wage cap and got in Liam Miller who done very well for us in the short time he was here.

Huddersfield brought him on 13/01/21.
So it is rubbish to say we didn't stand a chance once a Championship side showed up.
I remember Huddersfield got him in the January window.
Then I got the dates on the Internet easy. I checked the facts.
It is what I have said all window. We often don't bid enough. I can understand it if the players asks for wages we don't want to pay but a 100k or 200k on a fee seems selling yourself short.
Also saw a goal Eisa scored on Saturday. Nifty foot work. I thought people on here said he was slow and useless. He didn't see. Any of that.

So after 3 months of the transfer window being open we are yet again scrabbling around on the last day trying to bring in some kid that no one has heard of.
If that is supposed to be a successful conclusion to building a squad good enough to compete for the top 6 then I hate to see failure.
But it's no surprise as the men in charge have been telling you for months their strategy. I think their only failure (as they see it) is that Roddy hasn't pushed on to cover at LB.

The Championship figures get distorted by PL clubs with big wage bills who are relegated but obviously have parachute payments, which are slowly killing the competitiveness of the division. Yes you get the odd Brentford and Sheff Utd, but overall it's becoming the same old yo-yo clubs (Norwich the prime example). Look at the top 2 already this season, West brom and Fulham, and i wouldn't mind betting those 2 are still there in May.NapaAddick said:

I’m expecting some good experienced signings this deadline day - that appears to be the strategy Adkins stated weeks ago - working on getting some experienced players in to help the younger players

What slightly worries me is, if NA is in charge of the side tonight in the mickey mouse cup, and we're trying to make some late signings due to maybe our other targets getting snapped up elsewhere during the day (or failing medicals, unable to agree personal terms) how's he going to agree, as part of the 4 man recruitment team who comes in, or even has a conversation with the player?
Due to the game tonight I would expect our signings (if there are any) to be done before 6 pm and not in the final hours scramble.0 -
Clearly we have recruited two or three good players but our failure at this stage to secure another striker, left back and back up keeper is shocking.
If we are to seriously challenge at the top end of the table then this was a minimum.
We are now somewhat desperate and may be held to fandom by some clubs, players and agents.
I hope it turns out better than my pessimistic view!1
