Argh! Last year we played a friendly the first weekend of July. I happen to be in London first weekend of July this year. Really hope we have a pre-season game that weekend as well.

I think the team is likely to be in Slovenia early July so assume we won’t have a game in the UK but one will be arranged for out there instead.

When are we likely to see a full fixture list? I’m back for most of July and an gagging to see some football.

The club have been good so far with the very early release of fixture dates.
If you ask to be put through to the training ground they might be able to help you, it has worked for me before.

NJ said it will it will pretty much the same as last year (if I've missed this apologies) so Slovenia then a couple of training ground games, Cambridge then game at The Valley, probably Scottish

I didn't do any Scotland pre-seasons, bloody annoyed as I imagine they were a grin.

Is the Slovenia training camp due to be inbetween the Dartford & Cambridge matches, or before Dartford?

I think inbetween, unless we go to Slovenia for a training camp and don’t play a game out there. Think the dartford announcement was written as we will kick off our pre-season against Dartford so I’m assuming that’s the first game

Starting later than usual would make sense as we were in the play offs so finished late, and the Championship starts a week later than L1/L2

The pitch is being worked on as well as the floodlights. No idea how long it will take, but maybe they won’t have a home friendly just in case?

Said a while ago I think it’s unlikely given the state of the pitch so think you’re probably right, especially if they’re doing work on it

I think the home friendly last pre season fucked the pitch for the first few months, it needed longer to bed in

They played the home psf last year, too soon after the pitch was laid.
    I'm certain Methven admitted this.

Surely a man with the connections of @Airman Brown could facilitate a Ramsgate v Charlton friendly.

That would be a perfect fixture in July / Aug.

The Rams are now in the same league as Welling so a similar level to what we usually play in the early stages of pre-season.

The larkfield coach could be the last pick up for this one too!

I hope for Leaburn's sake that he does not think of Welling as the game that severely hampered his career.

Leaburns injury against Welling was two years ago wasn’t it?

Even when we don’t play Welling the guy unfortunately seems very injury prone.

Hopefully he can have an injury free 25/26 & live up to his potential in the champ next season 🤞

A few were impact injuries. Others being brought back too soon due to poor medical feedback.

Welling United did get relegated, so the gap between Charlton and Welling is wider than it has been for a long time.

So, apart from being a year out of date, and the wrong match, I was spot on...🙄

And with us playing Dartford every year now (due to us using Princes Park) there isn't really a space in the preseason schedule for another first team game against 7th tier opposition.

But there is a contractual obligation as our U21s play at Princes Park. It wouldn't matter what division Dartford are in...
