The plan to rotate the pitch 90 degrees is going ahead then I see. Taking corners is going to take a bit more effort but getting up and down the pitch to attack should be a little bit easier this season.
QPR’S first fixture of the season against Watford has been switched to Vicarage Road. The Loftus Road pitch is currently undergoing extensive renovation. Pitchworks take place at the end of each season but the surface in W12 has a ten-year lifespan and last season was its tenth year, thus requiring additional works. https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/qpr-v-watford-fixture-switched-to-vicarage-road/
And another one has had enough, 🤷♂️ You all must be fed up hearing it (some have told me so) I’m fed up saying it.
But…… just to follow up my comments “same s***t different day earlier in the week.
Last evening I got a message another long service ground staff member was leaving after 16.5 year’s service over two terms has quit this week. He was offered Nathan’s job when he quit but turned it down because of the individual responsible for him quitting, he then turned it down for the second time when Nathan’s replacement quit again he turned it down for the same reason, now with it reaching such levels he’s decided enough is enough and has quit Charlton.
Please #supportourstaff We have the voice, can we not make them listen?
If you expand the picture and zoom in the surface still doesn’t look great. I just hope the grass is still growing and thickening up and it improves before the season starts.
Always think the JS stand looks so out of proportion, even though it is two tier, and at that height a photo just looks like an afterthought...
That's because it was.
Gliksten basically had a cow shed built over what was remaining of the original large terracing cut back and sold off many years before the cover was built. Many fans would give the game a miss if it was pouring of rain so it made sense to build the cover.
I remember for many matches it just had a single small bulldozer sitting there halfway on the terrace.

It was built when the West Stand was small, wrapped in corrugated iron, and the Covered End was a terrace with a roof - when it was built it was the biggest covered area of The Valley - it’s out of proportion now because of subsequent changes
Why are subs allowed to warm up on the pitch during the game? The area in the north west corner from the tunnel to the corner flag is getting very badly churned up with the subs preferring to run on the grass rather than the astro turf. It was pointed out to me that when Bristol Rovers scored their first goal they had 13 players on the pitch two being subs who were on the pitch do exercises, the goal should have been disallowed

There are no lines to denote sections of the pitch now
Citing the “same old s*** as the reason, 16 years service over two terms gone.
