    I fancy Coup De Pinceau
    Another interesting one @RobinKeepsBobbin
Unusual aspects to his pedigree as well (inbred to Herbager - similar genetic attributes to Wild Risk) and distantly related to Silviniaco Conti.
    Interesting e/w value.
    Nice one.

A few family ties with staying credentials for Scot Nat runners, to perhaps take into account:
    • Notachance - Over The Deel (GN 3rd) and Smarty (2nd to Red Marauder in farcical GN)
    • Highland Hunter - Irish National winner and GN 3rd Ebony Jane (tough mare)
    • Mighty Thunder - half brother to x2 Irish GN near-misser Isleofhopendreams
    • Eurobot - dam was the strong stayer L'Aventure (won Welsh GN & 4m Borders Nat; x4 placed Midlands National, incl close 2nd to Synchronised)
    • Claud And Goldie - like Notachance, also related to placed Grand National frame-makers Over The Deel & Smarty
    • Coup De Pinceau - dam was a winner at 3m 6f in France, distantly related to Silviniaco Conti and Ucello Conti (GN 6th)
    • Chapel Stile - half brother to Rathvinden (GN 3rd and Festival 4m Nov chase winner)
    • Red Infantry - closely related to Red Marauder (somewhat fortuitous GN winner)
    • Cool Mix - Synchronised
    • Mister Fogpatches - Uncle Junior, XC specialist, x2 winner over 30f at Cheltenham (beating Balthazar King and Garde Champetre at level weight) and x2 winner over 4m at Punchestown (banks course)

I'm only going with 2 on my slip for Sunday, cos I'm very sweet on the shortish-priced Soldier Of Love.
2nd season novice, closely related to Monsignor (a prodigious talent, sadly never fulfilled owing to injury).
3 from 3 at 26f, staying on well each time and an extended trip on preferred going should bring out the best in this fella.
Very much a good ground horse - creditable 2nd over 3m to (subsequent Festival Novice Chase winner) Galvin when last seeing those conditions and runs off same OR144.
    8 yo, 11.01 to carry.
Just 14/1 and I'll have him and Cool Mix as my each way brace.

Upbeats link not working Peanuts, but that's where the donation is going. Not sure why but every time I've clicked it's not loaded. Bear with.

I think Eurobot is worth a tilt in the Scots GN despite a first-fence fall in the Irish edition. If Vintage Clouds is anything like he was at Cheltenham then I'd imagine he's a very good shout too, but who knows!

    Good choices all round @PaddyP17
    Top man.

    Betting two in Scottish National
Mister Fogpatches is now the only Irish runner, so is of interest on that alone. But was fairly eyecatching when sandwiching subsequent Topham 1st and 4th.
The other one is a bit of a flier in so much as he is probably a non-stayer (and I don't rate the jockey whatsoever) but I cant resist big prices about Oldgrangewood. His only tries at 3m+ were prior to a wind op and he ran a nice enough race behind The Shunter and Farclas at Cheltenham. Travelled well that day but couldn't go with them in the sprint finish suggesting step up in trip may suit. Whether he'll get this far...who knows. But he's a big price to find out and now runs off just 1lb higher mark than when beating Saint Calvados.

When @RobinKeepsBobbin called out Mister Fogpatches (admittedly from the Rachael Blackmore angle which now isn't a factor) he was about 40/1 Ante Post... he's now 17/2 Joint Fav!

Hopefully you had a bit on and can lay off now and you've got a massive risk free bet there!

    Two bets for me:

Aye Right - bit of a cliff horse for me and I'm not a favourite backer but if he won today I'd be sick without a couple of quid on

Coup de Pinceau - I think he'll have no issue with the trip and he's ahead of the handicapper so the 25/1 I took is very fair

Got some quality at the top of the weights but it does seem the race is lacking depth in terms of proven stayers who will relish quick ground.

So, with 7 places on offer I'm going to take a chance on him having a going day and add the old monkey Big River at 28s to Soldier Of Love and Cool Mix (topped up at a boosted 55s for 6 places) as my final 3 for this afternoon's marathon.

Despite the apparent need for a bog to slow 'em down, Big River's never been out of the frame in 8 runs on Gd or GS (3 wins), suggesting that he's perfectly happy hearing his hooves rattle. These days, it's just whether the trip's far enough to give him a chance of reeling them in but he was 5th in this on Good ground 2 years ago, having been as usual well behind but also hampered early. 1lb lower OR today.

Stays forever and, if he's not found himself lapped, there won't be any finishing faster than this fella.

    Good luck all.

I shall be putting 6 mostly outsiders in combo fc’s and tc’s with my main each way bet being The Hollow Ginge.

As always, really appreciate you having confidence in my tips - through thick and thin............. and there's definitely been a fair bit of "thin" from time to time.  :)
    All the best.

BTW, the winner today is ticking a lot of boxes for the 2022 GN, even allowing for the forthcoming hike in OR.
Trainer talking about a spin in the Becher.
    Clearly versatile on ground.
Unsurprisingly only 25s now and a bit skinny for 51 weeks in advance.

You really have to be in the know to bet this early. At 25/1 you wouldn't even gain a big advantage. Better to wait until the end of the year.

Maybe a touch of heart ruling head but I think there's a sound case for the old boy and I'll be siding with 11yo Crosspark for the Whitbread (aka Bet365 Gold Cup) this afternoon, e/w at 18s.
A big ask to win with topweight perhaps (Tidal Bay the last to do it 9 years ago) but conditions set for a bold show.
Loves the course, should relish the sound surface, 29f trip perfect, a succession of near-misses this season including over shorter than ideal last time off today's OR150. Decent value for 5 places IMHO.

Decent run in 6th for my lad but what a joke if you're connections/backers of Kittys Light.
Stewards decide he was interfered with by Enrilo and place Enrilo behind him but because Potterman finished a short head (more like a nasal hair if you ask me) ahead of Kittys Light, the rules say it's Potterman that's the winner.
    Total nonsense.
