  • Alex Gilbey was a strange one as he was excellent at home to Ipswich and the big win away at Plymouth.
His career imploded at CAFC and the two identical cheap shirt pulls at the valley when just outside the opposition's box saw him get two yellows in the 1st half of a game that cost CAFC a defeat under JJ.
This game made me realize Gilbey had shite for brains.

The Ipswich home game when he scored and ran the show saw him average 8.7 and maybe highest of the season but very hit or miss( mainly miss) after that.
  • To be fair to Gilbey,  he has performed quite well since he left Charlton.  My impression is that he is a very good league 2 level player who just isn’t good enough to be a starter in league one.

I think he had the ability but not the drive , nor the commitment to play in tier 3.  A serial hider - we’ve had quite a few .
  • Didn’t have much to do today but thought he showed composure. Looking forward to seeing more.
I wouldn't know, i was too busy with the Charlton game. Gilbert looked decent enough though.

I've got a good feeling you've been whooshed
