Bracketing players who will possibly stay:

    GK
    (Amos) - AMB

    RB
     -

    LB
    Purrington -

    CB
    Oshilaja -
    Pearce - (Sarr)

    MID
    Pratley -
    JFC - Lapslie
    Williams - Morgan

    AMD
    Oztumer -

    FWD
    Bonne -
    Aneke - Davisson

Honestly, not too bad a start but a lot of work is still needed.

Allowing for the nonsense/disaster zone of our ownership, these threads always tend to be over alarmist as so much of our business, especially the loans, happens so late. Indeed the Bowyer/Gallen game plan is to wait for the right loan players, even if it means starting the season with a very thin squad

In 2018/19 Steer, Bielik, Cullen and James Ward all arrived after the season had started
In 2019/20 Oztumer, Hemed, Cullen, Field, Kayal and Leko all arrived in August, again after the season had started

This will change depending on who remains, but I'd hope for something like this if we can keep those contracted:

    Phillips
    Oshilaja | Lockyer | Pearce | Doughty
    Pratley
    Gilbey | F.Caskey
    Williams
    Washington | Aneke

Subs: Amos, Purrington, Lapslie, Morgan, Oztumer, Bonne, Davison

    Res: M.Brewer
    Some potential changes

I think Gilbey and JFC would compliment Williams well. We all know what Williams can do but I think it's important to have a couple alongside him chipping in with goals.

That really would and should be good enough to challenge for automatic.

At least we now have a recognised league one keeper, need a centre back badly!

Need a Right-Back more... Its the one position where we dont have a natural

At the moment we've still got three Centre-Backs

Definitely, be happy with just signing one with Sarpong and Deji providing cover.

I actually prefer Oshi at RB, but I agree yes in an ideal world we need just about every position.

Bonne is on your bench. I’m sure a Washington is a good player but he’s not a goal scorer

This assuming bonne stays as he is that quad would fancy him and chucks to fire in this division.

Think both Aneke and Bonne will be very good at L1 level. If we're paying for Washington, I expect him to be Lyle's replacement so rotate Chuks and Macca

In need of a right back badly, and a centre back.
Midfield looks quite tidy for league one IMO.
    Forward also needed.

Dont forget that Lockyer has handed his notice in so whilst he is under contract for another year... The terms of his contract state he can leave for free this year

It's actually a very decent team. Definitely need some cover for Pratley and a RB in plus a CB to replace Naby.

Doughty been given the 18 shirt so staying?

Would love to see what Bonne and Doughty look like in this league

    Need:
    RB - hopefully Matthews
    CB x2
DM - as you say cover for Pratley

This is the absolute minimum.  In an ideal world, another LB and CF.
