Do we have something written into the loan deals that guarantees minutes? Would have rather had Williams/Oz for McGeady, and anyone else for Green and Taylor.0

Horrible game, horrible conditions.Maybe Bowyer could keep a more settled side from time to time. Oztumer was key in our win at Forest, so unless he was injured I can’t understand why he didn’t appear today.Smith and Davis both a bit anaemic, Hemed and Taylor didn’t link up well.McGeady was ok, Green looked sharp when he came on.No luck either; Hemed’s goal bound header from the corner hit a defender’s head. Whoever’s shot it was produced a wonder save from the Blackburn keeper.
but we did t really deserve anything from the game.Positive; meeting @Solidgone on the train before the game.5 -
Yes they did, 3.0
Barnsley won at Fulham?1 -
Pearce was superb first halftl95 said:Awful game, awful weather. Blackburn the better team but we did threaten in patches - just poor touches and a lack of quality in the final third.
Rovers’ Buckley was the best player on the pitch. Never missed a pass and was a right handful.
Pearce always looks so clumsy! Not cutting the mustard.2 -
Lousy performance but thankfully Wigan didn't win.
I don't mind Luton winning at this stage as it keeps Boro in it, but makes next Saturday crucial2 -

Davis needs to be dropped for next week4

Typical Charlton really....off the back of a great result in midweek, full up ground and the chance to get the £5 fans to home games on a regular basis. Absolutely miserable performance.Defensively we are a shambles, not sure what goes on at the training ground, but it’s not working - the communication and decision making was embarrassing today. Pearce and Hemed need to come out of that team. Hemed made one great run at top speed - it was when he saw his number being held up to come off....never seen him move so quick. Hopefully he kept running back to Brighton.Nobody came out of that with any credit. I’ve had my fair few shit afternoons at The Valley, and this was another to add to the list.9

Getting beaten by a better team is fine, if there are 21 better teams we are fucked. That's not bed wettingCallumcafc said:Bad game, bad day. I'm just gonna be here to read the massive over reactions to getting beat by a better side.1 -
Matthews only player that played well, the rest were flat. I like Green but he was abysmal when he came on, Bonne and smith pretty anonymous in their cameos too.2

Just seen the highlights. Not a pen in the first half, Pearce on their guy.
Why is Taylor taking our free kicks?0 -
You’re joking! He almost gave away a pen and misjudged high ball after high ball down that tight.Siv_in_Norfolk said:

Possibly because he is slotting them in the onion bag more than anyone else during training.EveshamAddick said:Just seen the highlights. Not a pen in the first half, Pearce on their guy.

It's him or Cullen and tbh Cullens dead balls have been shite.EveshamAddick said:Just seen the highlights. Not a pen in the first half, Pearce on their guy.

Crowd turns up. Team doesn’t. Shower of chite and given the weather I could have done with staying at home.Another wasted afternoon. ‘Tis the lot of a Charlton Supporter.2

Wasn't long ago we were having to play Vennings and Dempsey because we had no choice but now we are choosing to play Smith. Because he's from Man City? Offers no more than the aforementioned imo.15

He wasn’t great - but he was in good company on that one. Hard to judge a player on the hour or whatever it’s been that he has played for us.Fumbluff said:What did peeps think of smith?0 -

Missus took the kids swimming today. I'd have stayed drier had I joined them.

Don't agree. They were trying, but ineffective. Needed to control the tempi of the game more through Cullen. Unfortunately, either due to Cullen not quite being fully fit or Mowbray identifying this and nullifying him, the match was lost. The only counter today was Williams or McGeady, the former was crocked and the latter was too central which for me didn't work.Chunes said:I never thought I’d accuse a Bowyer team of a lack of effort but I’ll accuse that side. There was a lack of effort in defending and in showing for the ball. And a lack of application and concentration with play breaking down in key areas again and again because of sloppy control, a poor pass and nobody making the run. Lazy, sloppy performance.
Just watch the replay of McGeady for their second goal. He could not be arsed.

Outplayed for most of the game, Blackburn had a lot more about them than us and their goalkeeper was excellent.
I would rather see Pratley over Davis as I think he has a great presence in the team and works a lot harder throughout the whole game. Also would rather see William's or Oztumer instead of McGeady.
Now that Bonne is back start him instead of Hemed.
They pretty much closed down Taylor for large parts of the game , he didn't have his best game for us today.
Overall a poor and untidy performance, gonna have to shake things up for Luton that's for sure.

That corner last minute of first half had me pulling my hair out.
Just get the ball in the box but we fanny about trying to do a four pass short corner that never fucking works as nobody has a clue what weight of pass to give.
Honest to god they look like unser8s trying to do that routine. 4 x 7yd passes and they fck it everytime.8 -
Some observations:
⚽️ You can't let teams pass it about on the edge of your box and get away with it.
⚽️ We didn't threaten at all. Whether we stay up or not I think we need some more firepower. Cant keep depending on Taylor.
⚽️ Talking of Taylor, some shocking attempted passes today.
⚽️ Bald referees should be banned from officiating on rainy days. Their brains get too cold and they can't function properly. Matey boy had a shocker today. Not that it affected the outcome, 'cos he got things wrong for both sides.
⚽️ What I'm convinced did affect the result was my presence. I'll have a tot up how many games I've seen when I get home, but I've still not seen us win this season.7 -
Can we please stop these £5 matches and Charge £50 instead !
I waved goodbye today.
I will be back for Luton because I'm Charlton till I die, even though my legal team are waiting to see if Millwall pay my release clause.1 -
Blackburn were surprisingly good & better than us from start to finish.
Thoroughly deserved win.
We missed Williams & Pratley.
Davis & McGeady added little.
Cullen had another quiet game, no midfield.

Hmm maybe CE, as a battling away performance, but both their goals were lucky - first was a deflection and second the scorer knew little about it.Covered End said:Blackburn were surprisingly good & better than us from start to finish.

They looked a composed and a well balanced side, we ran around like headless chickens.
Could have been worse with Phillips daydreaming at the edge of his area when their second half free kick went thankfully wide.2
