Logic says that having beaten Leeds 2-0 in their game of the season, Forest will be dragged down to our level. 1-1.
Plus, someone said they've got WBA on Saturday.
So we're the take it easy game.
    Yep 1-1.

    (This may be straw clutching).
  • We’ll lose but the fight will be back in the team. The march to safety starts on Saturday.

Wigan have won 3 of the last 6.

    We've won 2 of the last 20.

There are no free hits. We need to start winning games, starting tonight.
  • On a long haul flight for this one. I’m flying with KLM whose website helpfully tells me that WiFi is available on flights where the KLM WiFi network appears on your device. Hopefully, I’ll be on the match thread as we pick up a shock win.

Cue news flashes of a KLM flight being diverted as a passenger launches into an uncontrollable rage and hurling abuse at people whose names do not appear on the manifesto. Officials believe drugs may have been the cause as the man had previously confessed to the passenger sitting beside him that he was an Addick (sic).

Massive night this one with Wigan and Barnsley both having very winnable home games. Almost feel their results are more important than ours.
  • Will some games be postponed tonight because of the weather?

You'd hope not being Championship standard grounds but then look at Man City on Sunday

Sadly it's felt like that for a while almost knowing we wont win and will probably lose every game .
The trend isn't our friend and we are heading in to stormy waters

I'm know  you dont mean it literally EA, but I don't think we will be marching anywhere.
We are in a dogfight now and we are going to have to guts our way to survival.
Blackburn on Saturday will be no gimme, especially if we lose tonight and other results go against us.
Last Saturday surely exploded the notion that a full strength squad would signal a return to early season form.

If only the season ended now.
  • It's going to be cold and quiet possibly wet but I've a sneaky feeling of an unlikely point, 1-1.

great preview! Like everyone I’m nervous but at least we have options now. Predicting a line up nowadays is impossible but sure we will see lots of changes. Stage is set for a first meaningful contribution from McGeady, COYR
  • With McGeady, Aneke and Bonne all back Bowyer will have to leave quite a few first teamers out of the squad for the first time in months.  Tough game, come on lads.  Would like to see Aneke involved at some point as he should be feeling confident and strong.

Any chance we can wear the blue kit tomorrow? That black kit is definitely cursed... haven’t won a single game in it
Nicest kit we've had in years, no horrible betting sponsor on it, if you buy it you're advertising a children's cancer charity; of course it's cursed. That's our luck.
  • I am not looking forward to tonight, they have been in good form rising up the table. We have been quite the opposite, we could do with a lucky draw/ win, but we will go home empty handed.

3-1 loss again :( tough game

  • 3 points incoming.... We are now starting our late charge towards playoffs

Just watched the Stoke goals for the first time. Back line in complete disarray.
Either they're not getting the right instructions or they are and choose to ignore them. Basic stuff.

Need a Fulham like performance albeit they were without Mitrovic, who would've ripped us a new one.

Great preview mate... Reckon it wont be one of your last few previews what with the Easter period still to come!!

Regardless your help has been great this season and hopefully look forward to more of the same from us both next year too

Would pretty much agree with the team you've put out

Am 50/50 in my mind as to whether we'll see Solly over Matthews, hopefully be good to see McGeady!!
With Matthews not tracking McLean for the first, playing Ince on for the second and seemingly not passing on Powell for the third, I would hope we do see Solly. Can't have three concentration lapses for 3 goals and keep your place IMO.

At home we are more offensive and that helps the defence as it takes pressure off of them. Away, we don't seem to be able to have any possession in our opponents half and they can build attacks from well into our half without too much challenge. This puts added pressure on the defence and we know they have difficulty withstanding it. Against Fulham, they could reset and we do need to find a way to be more of a threat at the other end, which will help the defence IMO.

Not for me. I think with his performances of late, bar Saturday, he deserves another chance.
  • I've been banging the 4231 drum since we lost Gallagher. Now is the game to try it (we did use it to good effect against Fulham). For me Doughty has to play as his pace and directness is something no one else gives us. If we really want to go for it we could put Alfie at LB with McGeady shifting across and Oztumer coming in (am a fan of Ozzy and he ran the game against forest early in the season) but think that would be too much. Will be something like the below. Pretty certain Aneke will be on the bench given he wasnt involved with the U23s yeserday.

    Taylor
    Doughty McGeady Green
    Field Cullen
    Purrington Sarr Lockyer Solly
    Phillips

Bonne Aneke Oztumer Pratley Pearce Oshilaja Amos

Hemed Smith Davis and Morgan to miss out Williams a full rest

Wouldnt be adverse to a 5 at the back if it was Doughty at LWB and Pratley in the back 3 with Sarr and Lockyer. Cullen Field McGeady in midfield and Taylor Green up top.

a draw and no injuries i genuinely think is the best we can hope for - the aim of the season remains to finish 21st or better think some of our fans forget that - we had a jammy start as we had a team that could play together where as a lot of others were full of fresh faces that hadnt gelled.

Will the real Charlton Athletic please stand up.
Was the the First 45 minutes against Forest at the Valley when we played superb with every pass putting Forest under pressure with the whole team playing a part.
Or the totally Inept performance against Stoke our new benchmark ?

Can't see the wood for the trees; we need to at Forest tonight.

If Aneke is really fit he should start even though it might upset the 'balance' of the team .. we just must put more pressure on opposition defences .. playing through midfield is not effective enough, time to resort to some long ball stuff and 'fighting' for absolutely everything especially in away games .. I mean like it or mot, we are in a right scrap to avoid relegation
  • High scoring game tonight. Three each.

Three for Taylor, three for Bonne

I agree - you can see the point in games where opponents feel able to really push players forwards because they don't think we can hurt them. This puts pressure on our defence.

Anyone else have an image of canters peeling off his face and revealing he's been Karl Robinson this whole time?
