Rouse retires. Interesting timing, it seems that he instigated it
Probably the toughest time to be a wicketkeeper/batsman, most county’s have a couple in their starting 11 alone. Obvs can’t get a look in at Kent because of Robinson and cox. Big shame!
To let cricket fans know, after the Boris covid announcements today, Surrey cricket club has now made all 4 days of the Bob Willis trophy game against Middlesex behind closed doors, no spectators at all, this is not good new for football clubs below the prem, Surrey were only going to 12% of capacity and have had to give up the idea.

Statements like this (Boris) will be up and down. Numbers fall and spectator numbers increase, numbers increase, spectators banned. New norm unfortunately

Maybe in 2 weeks time or a month, spectators will be let in again?
Tough on clubs like Surrey, having to cancel letting in spectators at such short notice, as presumably they will have hired extra staff and catering for the public
I have no issue with Kent minimising their financial losses this year, giving the youth a chance to develop. Both approaches should make us stronger next year.

A very young side out today, Cox 19, Robinson 21, O'Riordan 22, Qadri 19
Robinson 51*
Kuhn 124*
Essex 298
Jordan Cox is still in - 29 off 114 balls (including 3 fours and a six)
Makes a change from a couple of years again when we were terrible in the 1st innings then clawed it back in the second...
