Denly says that the Surrey boys in the England set up regard Kent as a "minor county". When you only beat the "minor county" once in two seasons (and that by 1 run) from seven games, I believe that must make you, on the basis of collateral form, a "village side".
Congratulations Surrey on that one bit of giant killing last season nevertheless albeit I suspect the celebrations didn't last too long!

Perhaps my comment was out of order in comparing Surrey to a "village side". I apologise to all those players who turn out, week in week out, for village sides.
Good win today and really should be 3 from 3. Got a decent young side. Would be very strong with Billings and Denly back in, and if Milne and Nabi were in too would have one of strongest sides on paper.

Other clubs have this, but frustrating to lose Denly to drink carrying duties, especially as it's even less likely he'll play in the Aussie T20 series and is just a reserve for the ODI series
Indeed slightly baffled why Denly is in the T20 squad and not Root
Yeah Denly must be very frustrated as ends up in a bit of limbo not playing at all. Like the look of Milnes so far this season, looks to be becoming a proper bowler at this level

I'm sure a central contract worth £300K (plus £10k for any ODIs or £5K for any T20s he plays) is some compensation for not playing. Especially for a 34 year old who hasn't got that much to gain turning out for his county in a competition which is, let's face it, minus most of the internationals, not of a particularly high standard.

I have it now - simples!
Kent off to a flyer, scoring at nearly 11 an over, required rate down to 7 already
We can still win this!
#weloveplayingsurrey
Heino 42*(31), Stewart 21*(18)
Well done btw😥
Got slightly worrying at the end, if one of Kuhn or Stewart had got out then the tail isn't great

Imagine a self styled "massive" club losing to little old Kent CCC.......again.
Essex at The Oval on Sky Saturday, followed by M'sex v Slurrey.
A short boundary on one side with the wind in your favour, defending that is the key
