Agreed. I think it depends who is around. The board of directors seem experienced in business, but not sure if they have much football experience. Like you say, hopefully he actively seeks it out as no doubt it can be found.

I think the big difference is that Southall has a working knowledge of football, is not a young fly by night without any business acumen. Whether his experience also allows him to run a multimillion and reasonably sized employing company only time will tell and it may be down to the support he gets from His Excellency.

For sure he's not worked his way up a traditional corporate ladder, gaining experience on the way, and landed the top job.
He's pitched an idea and TN has bought it but TN has lots of very savy advisors who will, I expect, have dug into the detail and numbers.
I see MS as an entrepreneur who's sold a business idea to a big (we hope) investor and so gets the chance to run the business for that investor and presumably taking some profit himself either in fees or shares or both.
I've been lucky enough to met him. He came over as charming, bright, funny and self-confident. I liked him (so what?) and only wish him well.
Is he up to the job? I'd say he's got a lot going for him and crucially I think he's secure enough to take advice when he needs it unlike a previous CEO.
Is this a big step up from his previous businesses in terms of turnover? Yes, it seems so.
Is it a big step up in terms of scrutiny (from the owner, from the media, from the fans) certainly.
He's landed his dream job at the heart of our football club. He stands to make a real name for himself and to profit along the way- especially if we make it to the PL. When I interviewed him, he was refreshingly open and candid about that.
This time round it feels like the ambitions of fans are aligned with the CEO. His presence and behaviour has already made a massive difference to the atmosphere and interaction. He loves promoting us as a family club.
He's new in the job and finding his feet. He will make mistakes. I bet he found the Jan transfer window even more of a madhouse than expected - especially the MM and Bostock sagas.
It's certainly a bright new dawn, thanks predominantly to Southall's impact.
Here's hoping it leads to a great new era for CAFC.

What qualifications do you need to run a championship club?
I don’t think an ex agent who hasn’t been particularly successful in business qualifies.
I’m pretty certain he has never been an agent himself but has worked for a company who were in some way or another involved with agents and their negotiations etc. I did see the name of the company/organisation on here a few weeks back but can’t remember the name.
This isn’t as strange as it sounds.......he could at least be encouraged to come on here and acquaint himself with some Grapevine49 posts and thus become aware that we have such a talented individual in our fan base. G49 is retired I understand, he just may be interested in a project that would be very close to his heart, though I admit, I don’t know in what capacity that might be. I think people are giving MS a bit of hard time, ESI have only been here a month and brought 4 players in what is a tough window, been present at every game, going ahead with training ground works, tied down LB, met with supporters groups, run 2 ticket promos to build up attendance, leafleted to the local community, contractually agreed to buy the valley and training ground within 6 months.
Admittedly yes the training ground/valley situation would've been nice to be sorted from the get-go, but if that would've halted/delayed the takeover then maybe it was the right thing to do at this present moment.

I'm keeping my expectations low and I will support the team 100%, obviously. I don't have to like the chairman.
