If Maddison isn't announced in the next 20 minutes it will destroy my faith in the people who make stuff up on Twitter.
    Cant you torpedo them?
I can't believe the depths some people will go to make up a rumour.
Taking a deep dive into this, I will be going under for long time, but I'll resurface when you least expect it, just hope I won't be in hot water afterwards, I don't want to be submerged by the negativity

I think the only players I would want from Sunderland are Lynden Gooch and Luke O'Nien, maybe McGeady. Used to rate Max Power but he is in decline
Definitely not Gooch or McGeady. Cannot see how Power can be decline at 26. Having said that I cannot see how Power and the lad from Liverpool would both sign, we need a more attacking midfielder.
I don’t see how you come to the conclusion that we need a more attacking midfielder. We are shipping goals and part of that reason is that kids do not track players effectively. We also concede so much possession that the defence is under constant pressure.
We do have Williams, Green, and Oztumer who can provide the cutting edge and this will not be our only signing.
I would also suggest that a player who has been with Liverpool for so long will be very very good at the transition between defence and attack - he will know how to make a telling forward pass!
Because we have Cullen, Field, Pratley and Lapslie who can play that sort of role. Yes we are struggling at the moment but that's because 3 of those have been injured. Chuck in two new signings and that's too many players in one position. We have lost Gallagher who's goals were a big part of our early success. We need a midfielder who can score goals. I love Williams and he should start most of the time but he doesn't score goals.
An attacking midfielder capable of scoring a goal would have helped get something in games like Swansea and Derby.
Hopefully that can be Aneke, but he appears to be made of glass.
I still think we need 2 CMs to replace Kayal and Gallgher, and I just hope they are not both defensive midfielders. We need one capable of popping up in the box.
PC is a proper box to box with an eye for a pass. An upgrade on Morgan with an engine that is a marginal step down on Gallagher.
Genuinely not digging you out, but he's played 2 games for Liverpool a few years apart, what are you basing your opinion on?
Not a problem, I work with a Liverpool fan who travels to every Liverpool U23 game in PL2.

I messaged him this morning to ask what kind of a player he was. His description of PC sounds a lot like a blend of Gallagher and Morgan.

    Here's his reply

I haven't heard anything about you being in for him?  I think he'd do well in the Championship.

He works hard all game, or at least until the 60th/70th minute when he tires. He sprays the ball around accurately with short passes, but he has an eye for a long a pass too and they come off quite a lot.

He can also split defences with decent through balls. He's not a goalscorer and tends to play the pass that leads to the assist, not the actual assist.

Pedro isn't afraid to put a tackle in with some tenacity, will work hard to regain possession. He sometimes jumps in a bit so something to be wary of is that he can be a booking waiting to happen.

That coupled with my understanding of Morgan and Gallagher that I have seen week in, week out leads me to the assumption that PC could be an improvement on Morgan, but with an engine and effort a bit like Gallagher. Certainly sounds like he doesn't have Gallagher's eye for goal either... obviously can't say for certain he's better than Morgan or has less of an engine than Gallagher.

A very loose assumption and hopefully it's right.
I think we need to clarify who has the bigger engine; Pedro Pedalo or Max Power.
  • Think this week will be another dud. Something not feeling right about all of this now.
    It's only Monday, ffs.

    Bit harsh on Ledley...
  • He was also hoping for some signings too

so we know Tuesdays news from CAFC --- those three picked up minor injuries,we are hopefully getting some  player in but as a  Slade Green FC  player his wage demands are a challenge --- we go again

Good point, I'm another half day closer to Retirement :)

Surely common sense dictates that it should be easier getting foreign players to the north east because they don't know what it is like. I know bizarrely a minority of players do seem to want to go back there but it is logical if you have lived there or even been there, you will appreciate that it isn't the best of locations. Maybe it is much more tolerable if you can afford a mansion on the outskirts.

Surely qualifies as an early contender for the Didn't Happen of The Year Awards?

I think we can get away with two midfielders and one striker. Of the right quality of course.
Green bones taylor Davidson and hemed should be enough - taylor and green first choice - Lockyer is the only centre half good enough
Not quite as family friendly on a t-shirt as Young Fish Costa Fortune.
no wonder he didn't fit in at preston
  • If the offer was cash and Palmer or Palmer and another player like that is being reported then I don't see how that is a bad offer?

I'm in two minds about it, in FM terms it's gold move on a player that doesn't want to be here, get in a player(s) that have potential and already worth more. On the other hand Lyle coming back will probably put in a shift knowing it's a good chance for him to put himself in the shop window, his goals could keep us up. Tricky scenario if true.

  • Or. Taylor goes through the motions and ensures he stays fit and able to get a fat signing on fee in the summer.

Maybe it was Palmer on loan, or perhaps permanent but his wages are far too high for us. Or they wanted a fee for Palmer plus Taylor.

Several possible reasons why it could have been a bad deal. Palmer might not have even been the player involved.
  • I thought Gallen had said it was Murray so maybe the 72 are just making it up.

But I'd be happy with Palmer on loan or to buy.
