at the end of the day we need a lot of signings. i understand matt southall wants it to be ‘sustainable’ but we need to pay over the odds for certain players now. staying in the championship will be better, money wise, than being in league 1, even if we have to pay extra for certain players
1) Don't come in promising things you can't deliver. You didn't buy the whole club so you could give us the window we needed. On day 18 of the window it has been pathetic so far. The actions don't match up with the words.
2) If there are a couple of little things in the way of getting Bowyer signed, get them out of the way. Or some of us may be thinking Bowyer is trying not to rock the boat and is being diplomatic.
3) We could have been 8 points clear if you signed a couple of ok players who could still improve the squad even if they were not first choice. If you have more money than Duchatelet, the situation demanded you did domething, do something now. We need a striker and a midfielder in before Fulham.
Unpopular opinion, the defence ain’t that bad, we had nowhere near the level of complaints about the same defence before the injury crisis, nor last season.
We need midfielders and strikers, defenders will tell you their job is a lot easier when the midfield and forwards retain the ball, something which we are simply not doing.
Today; Williams, not fit. Pratley, 34 year old battler, passed his best (sorry). Dempsey, inexperience kid not ready. Morgan, bit of experience, but not ready. Green, played only a handful of games this season. Davidson, inexperienced kid not ready. Hemed, not fit.
That’s what the defence has in front of them, the injuries are dragging it’s heals so much it’s taking us into the bottom three, that’s clear. Solution, oven ready signings now.
Long term stability sounds great, but league one next season makes the Wembley day out pointless, and even if we throw money about in the summer, no guarantee we will get back up (see Sunderland).

Totally agree - people will be amazed how much better the defence looks when our midfield improves.
If we dont get the players in we need by end of the window. It will be on ESI head if we get relagated. Southall if you want us to stay up you have to pay that little bit extra that clubs and players want. Scrap your model for this window. Implement it in the summer once were safe. We are desperate and there's no room for being tight over a players wanting 1k more a week. Get you're cheque book out or we get relegated. Period. If we get relegated because of lack of investment in this window ESI are just dumb business men.

Agree actions haven’t met words but we have enough ok players as it is. If getting good players in means waiting until the last few days of the window that’ll give us a much better chance of staying up than had we spent the money on more average players just to go for it a bit more against Preston and Fulham.
Also agree on midfield and attack being where we need to strengthen the most. We don’t have the quality there at the moment and it makes it too easy for the opposition to dominate the game and gives them too little to worry about when defending.

And what if we break FFP rules because we stay up for breaking what we're allowed to pay and so end up with a fine / points deduction!!

Agreed br7. Defence been ok since oshi gone centre, but they have no help even worse now galla has gone. We need some solid midfied battlers to help. Cullen and inexperienced field will obvs help when they are ready.

Im not saying go out and spend 10m on one player. We pulled out of the Gnanduillet deal over an extra few thousand pounds. We needed him today. And paying a player an extra 1k a week aint going to break our FFP. But that fine if Southall dont want to pay that little bit extra to get deals over the line. We will be signing our 2nd 3rd chioce targets or no one and we will be getting relegated which will cost ESI more.
I think fans are getting confused with 'lack of activity' and 'lack of signings'. As Gallen mentioned in the ESI press conference its a case of looking at 10 to get in 3.
The most important thing is to get in the right kind of player who not only has the desired quality, but also has the character to fit in with the ethos of the side. These things take time, especially in January where unless you are willing to pay over the odds it's difficult to get anyone in who matches that criteria.
Sometimes I wonder if people's views on transfers have been somewhat effected by video games, social media and even the transfer deadline day where it boils down the complex process to as simply concept for viewers to be involved in.
IMO we need a left back, a centre back, a centre mid and a striker before the window closes, and that’s with no more outgoings. We are seriously struggling and we can’t rely on injured players coming back anymore
Agreed
Probably two midfielders now after Gallagher's departure.

No info as to whether ridiculously good or ridiculously shite
will obvs help when they are ready.
We need Bowyer fully engaged and some belief.
Its staggering the amount of rubbish we've signed this month compared to actually quality players
Of course some have been loan signings
2018 - Mavididi | Zyro | Kaikaki
2017 - Forster-Caskey | Page | Dasilva | Byrne | Mavididi
2016 - Johnson | Teixeira | Williams | Poyet
2015 - Etheridge | Dmitrovic | Watt | Lepoint | Veljkovic
2014 - Nego | Ghoochannejhad | Parzyszek | Thuram | Koc
2013 - Feely
2012 - Clarke | Cort | Haynes
Stephens, Yann, Holmes, Lookman, Grant all come to mind
Years of therapy to overcome and forget about some of those names and I've brought it all back
we need a bit of grit, guile and flair. He brings that.
we also need a dominant leader to play at centre back to see us through this season
