To be fair, the new owners have made promises and as of yet we haven't seen what they have promised materialise. When we do, the atmosphere will surely change.
About bringing players in. In the programme last week said they needed to rush in because the January window is so important. So far it has been underwhelming. I accept there is still time, but we are playing games in January and our situation going into it was desperate due to the injuries.
An absolute shite week down at CAFC, Preston/Fulham game forfeited, Gallagher gone. Genuinely thought we’d have two through the door minimum this week instead we are -1.
That's the spirit! Might I remind you that we got a very creditable draw against the league leaders last Saturday?
My spirit won’t increase or decrease the likelihood of us getting points from them games, players will. And we are weaker now than we was against West Brom.
I’m guessing you’re saying we’re weaker as Conor left but tbh I think Josh is more important and with it looking like he’s back tomorrow, along with a few others, I think we’re actually stronger. Loved Conor for us but I think Cullen’s absence has shown how important he was in making us tick and his impact on others play. I think Williams being back too is just as crucial.
Josh is more important I agree but I’m talking short term. Those players gave their left nuts against West Brom and it was a draw, away up at Preston minus our current best fully fit player makes us weaker, Cullen won’t play tomorrow and Williams isn’t at his level yet.
I could be wrong but I'm sure someone said Conor's weekly ratings on here were in decline for a while? That's not to say we won't miss him we certainly will but had he been reproducing his early season form of late is worth asking the question at least?
Williams came off the bench on Saturday at 1-2 down, did what he does and won us a cheap free kick for our equaliser.
It can be argued the loss of Gallagher can be replaced by the impact of Williams but I can accept Conor will still be a huge loss I'm just not sure we're really much weaker than last weekend.

That was me Martin, he played nine games after his suspension and averaged 6.66 per game in the players marks, down from his overall 7.17? Which Lancs posted when he was recalled. The effects of being overplayed and clobbered every game no doubt the reason,
I would like to add that the January transfer window can be a bit like an auction.
Lots of frustrated comments that we've only got Green in on loan (yes I'm frustrated as well).
But most clubs and players are still mid auction and are waiting for higher bids.
The majority of deals happens when the auction is coming to a close ie in the last few days and specifically on the final day.
Surely we all know this if we're honest ?
Bump.
So were going to leave it to the last minute to get a few players in?
What we normally do, shouldn't be allowed this window. IF Taylor is going to stay till the end of the season then we don't get tempted on the 31Janurary by a 3, 4 or 5 million by a desperate team in the bottom 5 of the premier. If Taylor goes we have a replacement of the same status who may will be younger, by the 26th January. Just fed up with Cafc being a joke club. We have a fantastic chance with Bowyer, Jackson, Gallen, Euell, Avory, Marshall and the other coaches taking us to the next level as long as young players aren't continually sold. I could understand Joe Gomez leaving for 10 million at 18, but 3.5 million release clause was ridiculous. I was told by Joe Pigott's dad that Joe Gomez was the outstanding academy player when he was 14. I saw him play at 15 and he just glided over the ground. I saw Gomez play at the pre season matches in the Mijas hills at 16 and he was destined for the top. The Joe Aribo's of the future need to have a future under this owner at Cafc. If not, we are doomed to mediocrity.
Not being funny. Only knew who this lad was two days ago. It is what it is, I’ve supported Charlton 34 plus years and we’re not meant to enjoy 98% of the time.
He looks on the way out now as does the left back Declan John who kept Morgan Fox and Rhoys Wiggins out of the Welsh squad a couple of years ago.
Please no. Technically good but passes sideways all the time and isn’t strong in the tackle. We don’t need him. Swansea fans on their forums don’t rate him.

just wait for that 2% of joy every 20 years.

also what pub for Preston?
Funny you should say that. Earlier today, My 13 year old boy asked me how long have I’ve actually been supporting Charlton. I replied “38 years in October” he replied “so on average they have one good season every 13 years? - Thanks for ruining my life Dad”

Just tell your cheeky young lad that we were promoted in 2012 with a record 101 points. And promoted again in 2019 at Wemberlee with a winner 6 seconds from time.
That's twice in 7 years. I never had it so good when I first supported Charlton!

Exactly what I told him Oggy. Also reminded him he has ruined my life.

Expect the unexpected. The owners and management know the chances of Taylor staying on. As you say what happens if a £4 million bid comes in for Taylor. If they know he wont be here in the summer would they turn the offer down. If theres a good chance his going be mad to turn the offer down. If we dont get someone else in could we let him go.
Hearts have terminated Glenn Whelan's contract and Christophe Berra needs to look for a new club.
We are better than Hearts.
Yeah, but shouldn't we just get in Glen Whelan because he's better than Vennings ?
No we shouldn't, not unless the window's closing and we haven't been able to get better. Joe Ledley worked out well. If you get in lesser players, you'll likely be stuck with them for next season as well, possibly longer.
FFS Roland we need signings now !!!!! We are in shit street, every point is vital. I can't believe that yet again failure to invest will probably see us relegated. By the way what happened to that takeover that was announced back in November that was going to herald a bright new future ??? Just sell the club & fuck off !!!

Superb post Ricky, My lad was due on the 5th of December 1992 but held out till the 11th Dec so I could go to the Pompey game. His reward was to become a Cafc fan but I didn't take him to the Sunderland play off final as he was 5 and I wanted to enjoy every second and... Ok I did feel guilty for years mainly because he mentioned it on a regular basis, but he finally got to go to a Sunderland play off winning final 21 years later. Of course he blew me out and went with his upper North mates but we met up for 25 minutes before the game so he could meet up with uncles, aunts and cousins who went on that beautiful day. I wasn't that well this time around but adrenaline pumping through the veins helped me get through the day despite being crushed from strangers and family up in the gods. I can't take a decade of famine as pay back !
Why is it when other clubs are linked with a player within a day theres a picture of them wearing their new teams shirt yet us it's always a week of rumours then nothing?

We're buying players off Ebay now?!?!? FFS!!!!! It just keeps getting worse! I think I preferred it when they come off of youtube.

Groupon as well, I believe the players are cheaper on that.

Also there was rumours of players being signed that hasn't happened either
