Fancy Bowyer new contract will be announced today.
Either today or at latest the Thursday press day, because that's the first question the Journalists will ask, and it will get messy if not a done deal.
I'll be surprised if we get Maddison. Peterborough invest in high wages to their talent that proves themselves. Maddison's wages and fee have put off everyone for quite a few seasons now. Unless the deal was done quickly, I'd guess some clubs are whispering/willing to meet his no doubt high wage demands. Plus as hinted he'd rather be close to home up Durham. Would like to be proved wrong.
Good to see the Chairman out there amongst the thick of the transfer window . Face time or Skype unavailable to use to converse with Tahnoon . I’d much prefer he was amongst it back here pushing some signings over the line !
Maybe seeing the boss in order to get the deals over the line.

We have a director of football in Gallen that can do it all.
Yeah but Southall in charge of purse strings via Tahnoon or is Gallen negotiating Bowners contract as well
Oh he could be there to clinch a new sponsorship deal which will increase our transfer and wage budget?.........nah
Again. They haven't bought the club for £40m to watch it get relegated.
They'll buy the best from lower leagues, of the right age, with the right potential (sell on value) and won't scrimp on wages but won't overpay.
It's a business to them. They won't be held to ransom.
We have offered MORE MONEY than any other club on a transfer fee, so we're not going to lose a player unless somebody matches it and offers silly wages.
buying players from the lower leagues to help us avoid relegation I am sure is not the right road to go down.

But at least those players have ambition and not over paid older players whos careers are over the hill. - we shouldn't be buying players that want one last payday - look at the relative unknowns we recruited during the summer - Lockyer , Gallagher , Bonne, Matthews - all have done well and have a good few years ahead of them.

I am sure that this is exactly the right road to go down. Back your judgement and build for the future.

Fully agree, far better that than overpaid journeymen on their way down.
Always try to be glass half full, but if there’s no one else in before the weekend it’s another “the kids gave it there all but we come away with nothing” up at Preston.

Spot on. The very best in League 1 (Maddison, Toney et al) would almost certainly be good in the Championship. The same applies that the very best in the Championship would cut it in the Prem.
He can’t win, we all moaned that there was no communication from the chairman before and now it’s to much ?
I thought the Black and White scarfs were a symbol for transparency after the economical with the truth mutterings of Katrien Meire. Do we really want subterfuge again ?
Kayal hasn't been confirmed as leaving has he? How long is he out for? Or is he going and we now have two loan spots to fill?
I was told last month before Christmas we would be highly unlikely to see him again and that it seemed like he would be sent back to Brighton. However, that’s not happened and he recently had an operation so how long he’s out for, I don’t know as his treatment is in Brighton.
Umm in the press conference Gallen when asked about signings said ssomething like " we are looking for 3 permanents and maybe a loan". This was when we thought we were keeping Conor, Green had just arrived and were expecting to keep Field & Cullen so i assumed that meant Kayal had been sent back.
Either way his role in the squad (back up to Cullen) needs filling

Maybe we are waiting until we have someone to fill the role as a perm or loan before he goes back ? If we dont get someone in and Brighton are paying his wages he could be another option later in the season.
We are either gonna look back one day and laugh that we ever worried, or we are gonna look back to stuff like this and feel sick to our stomachs, there is no in-between.
After his recent activity I am firmly in the glass half full camp and keeping the faith.
I don’t have much life experience, but in my short almost 3 decades on the earth I’ve certainly learnt anyone who has bookshelf wallpaper in their office is a massive twat.

I love how active and engaging he is with us
