Next week should be great to watch. Jones will keep their feet on the ground and will know what to do tactically.

Loved watching this team grow since the last World Cup, and when you look at our bench, and those who didn’t make it to Japan, you realise how good we are.

When did NZ last not score a single point from their own play?? Ever?

Ireland beat them last November 16-9, their points coming from 3 pens.
    9! Rubbish, we only conceded 7 :-)

Joe Launchbury not making the 23 being an example of your point.

Their pens won from their play. We literally threw them the ball to touch down from our line out. It wasn’t even a forced error in play.

Well done England. I don't recall seeing the All Blacks outplayed to that extent before.
  • I'm always exhausted watching England play, I join in with all the scrums, mauls and tackles.
    Brilliant performance.

I think tomorrow will be too close to call. I would prefer South Africa in the final, but England should be able to beat either team. It is just Wales will be a different sort of challenge and will know England more. It works both ways though.

So who do we want in the final?
If we play like that, it really doesn't matter.
    Wales would be fun.
Not if they were to win. Life would forever be unbearable as we would never hear the end of it.
Yeah, but they arent going to win if England play like that. Which they will.
History in all sports - particularly for one-off games - is littered with games where the underdog has beaten an overwhelming favourite.

Clearly England should win. But it would be far from a given against Wales.
  • It would be an amazing occasion if England meet Wales in the final  I think England would prefer to play the Saffers though

Would rather lose to the Saffers than the Welsh.

Be nice to beat all of the big three Southern Hemisphere teams as well.

this was my thought as well. winning a world cup by taking out the aussies, the kiwis and the saffas in succession would be an amazing way to do it

my favourite stat from today- 28 years since NZ failed to score in the first half of a match

    Me too!
England have been by far the best team in the tournament imo.

Absolutely. I love NZ and Australia (never been to SA), but my Kiwi and Aussie friends are always so dismissive of Northern Hemisphere rugby.
One of my closest mates (a kiwi) once told me that he considered the only purpose of the six nations tournament was to allow the southern hem countries to work out which northern hem teams would give them a decent workout in preparation for the World Cup final.
Cheeky bastard. He’s gone quiet today.  :D

Watched that at 4am in the States followed by Charlton. Not too shabby of a day.
  • Sitting in the Hospital after Mrs Ottos waters broke at 3am this morning. Watching the game on a crappy hospital bed TV. And had a bit of inspiration to do the following bet a few mins before the game.

Hope it all went smoothly mate!

According to tv tonight the last time NZ failed to score in the first half of a test was 7 years ago - against England.

  • Big day in our household. Wife is a huge Welsh rugby fan. If they beat South Africa the final next week it could cause a few tensions. We might have to watch in separate rooms.

I'm in a similar boat. Got 2 Welsh friends here who have come from Wales for the weekend, and my partner is Welsh.

Drunkenly promised yesterday that if Wales win today, I will go to Cardiff to watch the final at theirs!
