Did we have more than one shot on target? I thought we were very fortunate to get away with all 3 points, somehow our defence kept a clean sheet and I don't know how. I was very happy to see the back of Brentford's number 3, he got behind us way too often
A good atmosphere for most of the game although VFR gets sung at 1000mph with a polite clap to ourselves for remembering the words I guess.

Wednesday first half v Forest was one of our best footballing performances in my lifetime.
Today v Brentford was one of our best battling, never say die performances in my lifetime.
Bowyer, aided by Gallen & Jackson are performing miracles.
I don't recall seeing any good luck for Charlton. I saw some poor efforts on goal from Brentford and some wonderfully heroic, you shall not score, defending from Charlton.
Absolutely magnificent Charlton and I salute you all (apart from Leko who was a bit poo).
Pearce and Field in the double block, just watched it on Quest. There were other blocks, Well 22 shots to be precise, which were either blocked by defenders, saved by Philips or went high and wide.
A totally different experience to the Forest game. Great 5 points in 3 games considering both Barnsley and today could have seen defeats on the balance of play.

Where was Naby? We surrendered possession for most of the match, and it was the complete opposite of the first forty five minutes v. Forest.
Yes, bodies were put on the line, and it was a valiant defensive performance, but we were very lucky to get anything from the game. The heat definitely didn’t help, and we generally looked a little lethargic. I’m assuming Otzumer wasn’t ready to play again, but a player like that who’s great in tight areas, would have been useful. Brentford's back four were superb.
If it's a valiant defensive display, how can it bé lucky? That mâkes no sensé and I think that it is an insult to their bravery and hard work. I thought they were magnificent. They we're like héros out there today. Luck doesn't come into it.
Quick summary: Brentford dominated us rather as we dominated Forest on Wednesday night in the first half. The difference is that they could not get their noses in front and, in a moment of rare respite, the twinkling feet of Johnny Williams put Conor Gallagher through to finish clinically. The timing, 5 minutes or so before the end of the first half was ideal and we were able to go in at the interval 1-0 up.
The second half was more of the same: Brentford dominance with the odd foray into their half drom us. As time went on Brentford exerted more and more pressure which somehow we managed to absorb.
Eventually the whistle blew and against all expectations we hung onto the 3 points. A magnificent achievement against the odds which the majority of Charlton sides I've seen in 56 years would have been unable to emulate as they would have cracked under the unrelenting pressure.
Again, like Wednesday, it is invidious and difficult to single out individuals but the defence was rock solid and George Lapslie, playing out of position for an hour, merits a mention. Brentford were particularly strong on their left hand side and young George stood strong to everything they threw at him with the help of his team mates.
I was immensely proud of the lads today for the character shown.

How many years has it been that you've seen a Charlton side under the cosh like that and hold on to a lead? This is a team made up of loanees and they put their bodies on the line as if they've come up through the academy. The ethos and team spirit Bowyer and Jacko have built up is on a different level. Lockyer absolutely immense at the back and Lapslie deserves all the recognition he can get for that performance.
Taylor needs to step up and start scoring goals. His crisis of confidence has brought about his goal drought.
He needs to forget about coloured boots and fancy highlighted hair and start getting the basics right.
A bit like absolutely slating our goalie who made one or two excellent saves, a couple of very good punches and tried hard to get some upfield momentum going when no-one created any space for him.

Seriously, people on here and in NU, get off Dillon's back. Young, homegrown keeper finding his way in the Championship who kept his first clean sheet of the season today. GIVE THE LAD YOUR SUPPORT!
