Darren Pitcher - RIP

I remember the Blackburn game. We sat in the home end as guests of my dads old boss a season ticket holder. My dad had to push me down when we scored as I leapt out of my seat then looked around at the locals showing confusion and annoyance. If I remember rightly they were second in the prem and we were second in Championship. What a night. Thanks for the memories young Darren.
Two years older than me...fuck.
Goodnight to a Charlton hero.3 -

RIP Darren.
Such a shock.
Condolences to your family and friends.0 -
I had the nightmare of playing against him for North Kent against Thurrock when we were about 14 he absolutley ran the show and we had a bloody good side.
I then had the pleasure of playing with him when i was in the youth set up at Charlton. He was a really nice lad and a great player. We all knew he would make it even at that early age.
Sleep well fella you will be missed so much.31 -

Shocked. Awful. So young.
Will never forget seeing him at Ewood Park. RIP.0 -
Just found out about this. I can't believe it. The Blackburn game stands out of course as his moment of glory but he was otherwise a reliable, hard-working member of the team for several years, back when I used to go home and away. I am shocked. Very sad. Sorry to see you go Darren.1

Very good piece in the programme yesterday.
Pitch was buried in a Charlton kit, at his request, and his pallbearers were Simon Webster, Bob Bolder, Carl Leaburn, Lee Bowyer, Colin Walsh and Steve Thurlow (Former youth team player at Charlton).
Curbs led the coffin.

Not that it makes any difference one way or the other but, out of curiosity, does anyone know what Darren died of?0

Soundas said he heard it was a heart attack.0

Shame the minutes applause when his pic came up on the screen yesterday was missed by most due to Nabys red3

Maybe we should have another go at it on Saturday. Football is a passionate game and the timing was unfortunate, but Pitcher deserves a proper send off from the fans. He was part of our history being one of the first game back at the Valley team.7

Think this settles any remaining arguments about where his loyalties lay.Henry Irving said:Very good piece in the programme yesterday.
