I watch a lot of Italian football and it always stood out with Sarri at Napoli, he quite clearly had a system and while yes, it worked BUT he stuck to it sooo rigidly.
Now he’s come to England and he just cannot adapt.
not just the stubbornness with Kante etc but also his in-game management. every sub is like for like. Never changes formation in the slightest. Not even the smallest change of shape, even when it’s clearly not working.
i actually don’t mind seeing him stick with it game by game, old cliche it will take time for the players to learn his way of playing BUT that doesn’t mean if you’re losing after 60/70 minutes you can’t bring on a 2nd striker for a midfielder or something.
