I’ve heard that Lyle is getting a little anxious now, he is trying to get help with lone training programmes.
My heart bleeds for him. Hopefully he has to scrape the bottom of the barrel and join Palace.

Explains his appearance at the fitness centre in Crewe then, maybe he should have worried about that when he was off kicking a ball around with some YouTube team.
  • It would be a massive blow to his fragile ego if no big deal materialises....
  • He probably won't get the big money contract he would have gotten at his peak but I would still imagine  a lot of clubs in the Championship would be interested. Goal scorers on a free are a rare breed
  • He’ll get a gig at a Championship club but it won’t be the big life changing move he was hoping for as since the New Year football economics has changed and for the coming season at least I can see clubs really reigning it in outside of the PL. Serves the wanker right.

They’ll definitely be a few Championship clubs still interested, but they’ll not be paying him the £15k+ pw he wanted now.
  • Reckon most, if not all, of his options in the UK have all but dried up for one reason or other, and I can still see him going abroad.
  • I disagree
I think alot of people here are letting the hatred we feel towards him which i also share by the way cloud the fact the guy is a pure class player and easily gets into any top 6 championship club if not low level prem and with a striker that can finish 9/10 times and bring what he does to a team as an all round player im sure he isnt short of takers even during this pandemic
Yep, and for relatively cheap as well. He'll get his move, no doubt about that
  • Not so much hatred, just weighing up what he'd get all things considered.

Also think Bowyer's name goes a bit further than Taylor's in the game and what's Bowyer gonna say if asked what Taylor's like? Nice lad, but highly strung with a moral compass way off kilter probably.

    So, Galatasaray after all then?

Nana nana nana nana na na na, Taylor's on the dole, on the dole, Taaaaylor's on the dole.

(Kc and The Sunshine Band - Give it up)
  • Hopefully he's got his comeuppance, hope ESI get the same.

Is he though? No doubt great for us but in his entire career he has managed half a season in the championship and is now 30. If he really was genuine top 6/lower prem material he'd have been at one of those clubs already. Thats not sour grapes, just an observation.
Players improve and there’s a lot of examples of strikers doing that late on in their careers, Yann, Rickie Lambert, Grant Holt to name a few.

Before this whole fiasco a lot of fans were labelling him as a top tier Championship striker, because he was. Regardless of what he had been doing earlier in his career - in the here and now he has demonstrated he is a very good player. We can’t just start denying that all of a sudden because we don’t like him
Very good player who hasn't played a game in 6 months
  • he'll get a club no problem, he's a quality striker

....it just might not be the sort of club/contract he might've thought he'd be getting 6/8 months ago

You cant forget to play football, just whoever gets him has to hope they can get him match fit and there are no injuries.

Well yeah, I obviously wasn't alluding to the fact he'll need to learn how to do kick ups again  :)

  • He is a free transfer, goal scorer, what's not to like,he will definitely end up with a team higher than us,just a big shame it didn't work out how most of us would have liked

The fact he puts himself before the club
  • Wouldn't be surprised if he went to MLS
  • No clubs are going to be offering contracts just yet in the current financial climate. Why pay a free agent a salary now when the season doesn't start till mid September

MLS or China would not surprise me.  If he's that interested in money then China would suit him down to the ground but MLS might be where he can kickstart a career into punditry or Hollywood - seeing as being in front of people seems to appeal to his ego
  • Big club Celtic, but not as as they think it they are aiming at ex-Charlton players 😉
