if Taylor does return, I imagine the opposing centre half in his first match back will have a little word in his ear - along the lines of 'I'll break your leg' - inside the first couple of minutes and have Taylor in his pocket for the rest of the match. Having said that, I hope I'm wrong.
That’s the type of comment that will motivate Taylor, especially since there’s no fans to wind him up
If Lyle is going to play (I've given up trying to work it out now) then hopefully the abuse he's had from Charlton fans works in a positive way
We've seen how opposition fans get made to regret any heckling he gets during games
I don't think any stick given for refusing to honour the contract was unwarranted. In his statements, he said he saw why people would be angry.
I think if he does play, even just the 3 games, then he wouldn't be due any critisicm, all things considered.
Not my bag but tweeters and instas should definitely let him know it is appreciated in the meantime. Why hold him responsible for what he might have done rather than what he actually does?
Great, let's all dance around Taylor for a few weeks then let him slink off days before the Millwall game so we have to throw a new strike pairing together.
Yes he could score a few goals to help us stay up before he leaves, he's a good player but I hope Bowyer benches him
Taylor has created a rod for his back whatever he does now
If he comes back and plays the 3 games in June, and say misses a crucial penalty or even worse gets sent off, there will be a massive media story about it
Solly can dust himself off now to cut the half time oranges
I can just see it now - “Charlton defender Lewis Page has been ruled out for the season after Chris Solly mistook his hand for an orange and cut it off”
On the harmony hairspray issue (is he/isnt he) I am split down the middle on it. My head says that I would welcome him back because he is undoubtedly our best striker......but my heart says fuck him & move on. His team mates will be a good barometer & if they are happy with him back then I suppose we should be yltoo.
We'll know in a weeks time & can judge then. Just hope that if he does play then he plays like we know he can & not half heartedly.
Always thought that Lee was trying to motivate Lyle into playing by going public. Interesting that it appears he has changed his mind. Lee Bowyer just gets how to manage footballers.
I have no fears Lyle will be disruptive in training. In fact just turning up should give everyone a boost.
Its quite easy, play well, help keep us up, get that big move and be the next Pukki/Michu/Grant Holt... Then everyone is happy and you'll be considered a hero at Charlton and very well-respected in the wider football world.
Go on do it. Nothing stopping you, unless you're not good enough
Not quite sure it would give the other strikers a boost. They are working their nuts off and he has supposedly been watching a blank tv screen. Not much of a moral booster for the other strikers if he just bowls back in and take his place in the team.

Yeah agree. I trust in Bows to be able to judge this well.
Even if he just goes training, I find that more acceptable. Better than going on strike.
I guess Bows has to judge if having Lyle around will help the strikers as a collective or harm team spirit.
@ricky_otto - you might well be pissed off as Bonne and Aneke. I see what you are saying.
Equally, Bows might be able to convince both of them that Lyle gives everyone a chance with him for the first 3. It is 3 less games for either of them 2 to break down with injury. They will still have to play a massive part whatever the decision.

Taylor has been in training right? We don't know how he's looked there, especially compared to the others. He might still be the best in training. And if he did do a u-turn, which I personally doubt but whatever, he'd also have a week to prove himself in training.
Going on form and fitness before the break, the only guaranteed starters I can see right now are Phillips, Lockyer, Matthews, Cullen, Williams. I know some might argue for Bonne, but he wasn't an automatic starter when coming back from injury, and Pratley, who now has a bit more competition in midfield, particularly from JFC, who is a creative midfielder in a team in desperate need of creativity in midfield, and Field, who is better in possession.
Every other spot is up for grabs, and we don't know what formation we'll play against Hull.

I wouldn’t even have him on the bench. Make a point. No one player is bigger than the team. He obviously doesn’t want to play so don’t play him. I’ve forgotten who he was anyway.

I feel like a right twat now. Taylor’s unsent the message where he said no so I look like I’m having a conversation with myself🤣
How do you unsend a message ??? Once you've sent something its been sent It's done. Its history.
On Instagram you can hold down the message and you have the option to unsend
My point is.....once you've sent something it's done. Finished. If you mean you can retrieve it before the other person receives it then thats different. But the pp showed a msg exchange that clearly shows LT sent something.
Sorry I'm clogging up this thread but I like being pedantic. You cant "unsend" something that's been sent. Its like saying you can take back something you've said. Once it's out it's out.
So if LT had "unsent" something it means diddly squat.

To study medical Science ?
There's 11 of our players on the pitch.
He can't control a game. He's probably a confused internal mess.
He doesn't want to get injured...so his effort will naturally just be withdrawn.
I promise you. He needs to go!
Because we will be better WITHOUT him.
Start again. Move on.
Freshen up. Wish him well.
Then at least try and stay in this league!!

Tough tough calls for LB.
