Little control? Surely he has full control of the games he's contracted to play ffs.
Exactly. He's been told by his new club not to play all day long. Cant have been too many messages of support from Charlton fans i wouldnt think
I'm sure the FA would have something to say about that, if true.
Exactly, as long as pre contract agreements have existed players have, to my mind at least, fulfilled their obligations to the club currently playing them or the club and player have both agreed to terminate things early.
The FA won't do anything as I doubt anything is written down but if the club signing him have pressurised him to refuse to play for the current club that breaks down another fragile remaining layer of morality in football.
That tweet or post is a load of bollocks, he has complete control. To the point he made the decision not to fulfil his contractual obligation of playing football if fit.
Aside from that, football isn't that black and white. It's an emotional game for the people that make football the cash cow it is for those that seem intent on destroying the game, it's also massively about character and mental fortitude in the same way test cricket is. I guarantee successful teams that have won stuff and compete contain changing rooms full of people willing to fight for the man next to them even if they don't like them. Taylor now falls well out of that bracket for me and I'd be very wary of him if I was about to become a teammate of his

Not if the instruction is delivered unofficially in a way that is deniable. Football is full of dishonesty. Stealing players, especially young players is done by them all. They promise money/cars for the parents etc... Football is run by immoral people, but they don't publicise this aspect.
He has full control of it, if a club was making him not play it would be illegal.
Fucking idiot am extremely greatful for the goals to him it’s a job to us it’s part of our lives our little old Charlton, and to Darren Gough Charlton is a proper team you northern shit
Lyle Taylor wants the Charlton Fans to find it in their hearts not to hate him. if our next owner was to offer him 20K per week would stay then ? Now maybe not it’s all utter Shite. i am as loyal as any Charlton fan could be since 1968 as a little Boy born in Greenwich have loved this club and I still do, as did my dad and my grandmother who lived on Wolf Crescent SE7.
No I will Not hate you Lyle .... but I have no fucking respect for you, as you are not a man of character or integrity!!

I should have said if true and provable.
On your last point, I agree - oh shit, hang on ....
Bollox to him, solly and davies - i'm under no illusion that footballers do anything other than what's good for their career and paycheck and haven't since i was about 11 years old so not surprised at all. They could have made a different decision and they could have been welcomed back to the club in years to come - they haven't and they won't be so that's that. Out of all of them i think its Solly who has let himself down the most. For the extra year or so he may play at some shit level he's thrown away years and years of good will.

Johnny Williams and Sir Chris P are not to be tarnished with the above. Solly has really let himself down there

Probably got flowers from the same bloke who sent some to Katrien
Somebody sent flowers to Katrien?!
Didn't you know? @cabbles held a torch for her and he was broken hearted when she knocked him back😉.
Ah, it's coming back to me now, I seem to recall someone else sent her flowers after she got some stick on a train back from Watford after we suffered a humiliating defeat there.
Seen on lyles insta stories that he shared a video of Chris Dickson implying that the media are using race to portray the lyle story negatively, whilst ignoring that Solly isn't playing. Annoying that they are using the race card when the reason it is portrayed this was is because Lyle is/was our best player whilst Solly is now a bench warmer at best
If Taylor signs for Fulham the "There's only 2 greedy bastards" will be interesting

Absolutely. It would be delivered by his agent. Verbally. But persuasively. After all, agent will trouser 250k or more if deal goes through, but not if injury were to scupper it (not that I believe that to be likely, he was injured in his last AFCW game, FFS)
I'd love to know who exactly coach and player wise (according to your tweet) think it is okay to walk out on a contract that paid you for 4 months sitting on your arse injured after playing a non-league standard international match. If every player out of contract decided to not play the final month of the season in case of injury, it would be anarchy, because some joker would then decide two months was more appropriate. Just admit it Taylor. You are a narcissist and thinks the world owes you a living. And don't play the race card, because Solly will be just as "welcome" back at the Valley as you will be.
Plenty of other clubs fans giving him a bit of stick on that twitter post. His reputation has taken a bit of a knock from this, but I’m sure he’ll make himself the victim soon enough. Really has gone from hero to zero quickly. Just seeing his face pisses me off.

That is because Lyle thinks he is smart when in fact he is not that smart or clever at all 😂

He's intelligent as footballers go, the bar however isn't always set that high. Bradley Pritchard would smoke him at University Challenge.

He may love playing, but he's said it several times he is not a football fan.
I wish he could do more for us, but he chooses not to. He had the opportunity to achieve a status of greatness.
Maybe alongside Kermorgant. Instead he's going to end as a Parker.

Almost seems to be a default position now for some to play the race card as a way of deflecting away from the central issue.
