we've been to quite a few player of the season dinners over recent years, but I don't feel inclined to go again. You finish the evening thinking what a fine bunch of people the players are, and six months later 2 or 3 of them shaft the fans.
Footballers are not playing for the fans, they are playing for themselves, it's their job.

This does seem to be the case in modern football and often i ask myself whats the point of getting so attached to football when the players are hired guns.

so you know every single player in the league and what motivates them do you
Plenty of other clubs fans giving him a bit of stick on that twitter post. His reputation has taken a bit of a knock from this, but I’m sure he’ll make himself the victim soon enough. Really has gone from hero to zero quickly. Just seeing his face pisses me off.
That is because Lyle thinks he is smart when in fact he is not that smart or clever at all 😂
He's intelligent as footballers go, the bar however isn't always set that high. Bradley Pritchard would smoke him at University Challenge.
Pitiful behaviour by Taylor. He should hang his head in shame. Any clubs looking to sign him ought to be aware of his lack of moral fibre.
Absolutely spot on, Dickie 👍 In fact I would not be at all surprised if Several clubs may now be a little put off the idea Of a potential gob shite trouble maker made of Glass joining their Club.
Lyle is a bit of a naive idiot if he thinks Charlton fans will be okay with what he's done. Our main concern is the club and he's made it abundantly clear we don't matter.
Why does he expect sympathy?
Honestly I highly doubt he cares what Charlton fans think, this is just about damage control now.
Does not bode well for any sportsperson's future if they fear injury.
I guess what he means (but cannot bring himself to say) is that he fears injury could deprive him of a big money move. We know he was ready to be off to Brentford in summer, and then, having knuckled down, he got what he said was the worst injury of his career. He would have spent several weeks pondering whether he missed out completely.
Before anyone starts, I am not defending his refusal to play. But to say, as someone did above, that he is made of glass, is just re-writing history. And of course, IMO he wasnt the only one to have these thoughts because he’s not the only one with big money at risk. His agent too, missed out on a big payday in summer and will do anything to make sure he doesn’t miss out again.

Apart from when Depeche Mode come on 6 music.
Glasgow kiss?
'See you Lyle, I've just about had enough of you......stitch that' 😉
