Man City trained at The Valley, Charltonised.
It'll always be difficult to replicate the conditions at the Valley wherever you go on to play

Not surprised they've struggled after being in awe of our beautiful unique stadium
  • Was poor from city that I thought similar to the Brighton performance, imagine leaving sane on the bench until the 88th min! Will be a much different game at the etihad though
  • I know City have a lot of games but still strange that he started Sane and De Bruyne on the bench and Delph at left back.

I'd still expect City to run through them next week at home though and win by 2 or 3.
  • This will only make it more sweet when City beat them 3-1 in their home match.

I think that sometimes Guardiola is a little bit too cute for his own good.

99% of City fans would have DeBruyne and Sane in their best XI, so it is mystifying how he sees otherwise.

Similarly how is Otamendi starting ahead of Stones and Kompany?
  • I think Stones is just coming back from injury and Kompany is made of glass. Otamendi has been solid for Guardiola and made the PFA team of the season last year, so not hard to see why Pep has faith in him.

I think Bernardo was a big loss for them last night though, which makes it even more bizarre he didn't start with De Bruyne.

Next week i'd expect Mendy, De bruyne and Bernardo to all start, all out attack and City score at least 3.

I make you right that they missed Bernardo, Mahrez looks half the player he was at Leicester...reminds me a bit of Sanchez since he left the gooners.
City will come out flying 2nd leg. Id really like Spurs to get an away goal to make it interesting. I think Kane will be a big loss but my spurs supporting pal at work says that their record without him is really good and their form dipped when he came back from injury and dont seem that bothered hes injured again. Surprised me
  • This is prior to Kane's last injury (January)

Their league record with/without him over the past 4 seasons, so they actually don't miss him too much which i'm quite surprised at.

    90                  Wins                     13

    31                   Draws                     5

    30                  Losses                    5

    2.0                 Goals/Game         1.6

    2.0                 Points/Game        1.9

    60%               Win %                 57%

  • Kane needs to get that ankle sorted for the long term a s a p … IF it is sortable .. Spurs outfought Citee last night .. a Citee team that looks sometimes as though it just thinks it needs to turn up to overawe opponents and then turn them over
  • What a dogshit game at Old Trafford tonight.
  • Rare to see Barca so wasteful with possession
  • Main thing is they did what they needed to do
  • What a dogshit game at Old Trafford tonight.
Ajax v Juve was decent though. Ajax looked very good, completely outplayed Juve and were unlucky not to win. They can definitely go to Juve and score so the tie is still very much alive. In a way it's a shame that their team will be completely broken up this summer.

De Jong was outstanding, he'll be a star at Barca for the next 10 years.

Controlling the game at 21, against a side of Juve's quality.......

  • Spurs seem to be something of a bogie team for City, that or for whatever reason Pochettino has figured something out that no-one else seems to. That said City's is probably the strongest squad (in terms of depth and quality of reserves) in Premier league history so they are still favourites to me just not quite as much. Other sides might compare n first 11s but overall squad strength? Nope.
  • City beat Spurs home and away last season......and at Wembley earlier this season.
  • Dutch police arrested more than 140 fans before Ajax's game against Juventus in Amsterdam.

A statement released by police said officers confiscated "weapons and fireworks" during disturbances close to the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday.

Some fans were detained at the stadium's metro station. Another group was arrested closer to the ground. Water cannons were also used to break up groups of home supporters.

Dutch police say they worked with their Italian counterparts to identify potential troublemakers in the lead-up to kick-off in Amsterdam and most of those arrested were fans of the Italian club.

Initial statements said "dozens" of fans had been detained in the hours before the tie, and items including batons, flagpoles and a hammer were discovered.

Later, officers picked up 46 suspects at the metro station before 61 more were arrested at the ground.

  • Don’t know what game Alan Smith was watching when Barca were wrongly given a penalty just now. I thought it was as clear as day that the Defender got the ball, but he obviously wasn’t watching the same game as me! VAR sorted it though.

Not that it mattered, seeing as Messi just scored 2 minutes later!

  • United must have an academy product better than Young at LB.
Its embarrassing seeing him play at this level.
  • Young is atrocious
  • I’m almost convinced De Gea is playing for a move too. Uncanny amount of mistakes the last few weeks.
  • United started okay as well, Rashford hitting the bar. That defence tho, shocking.
  • If a Charlton keeper made a mistake like De Gea's say Nick Pope back in the day  can you imagine the pelters he would get from the fans !

And what else would you expect if a keeper makes such a basic mistake?
  • Ronaldo puts Juve ahead, no stopping him!
  • Both goats scoring the easiest goals of their careers.
  • Juve Ajax 1 all
  • Ajax really have been impressive this season in the CL.
