20 years ago I would have laughed at you. I now watch some of the old clips on youtube & see how good Leaburn was at attacking the ball in the air. Josh is 2nd rate.

Leaburn, even if he is getting on a bit now.

Tracey could be an option off the bench too ...

    Leaburn

I started watching us as a kid of about 6 in 1988 and I know Leaburn had that stigma attached to him, and I was probably too young to realise, but he was actually a very good player. Great hold up play and played at the top level and equivalent to the championship all his career. Josh is League One

So true... Scored as few goals but his off ball play and as you said threw himself at everything. Think Hunt, Mendonca and Bright all said Leaburn was the best partner they played with.
    Hunt never played alongside Leaburn

He did - mendonca wasn’t too pleased when CL was sold.

Clive definitely said he was the best player he's ever played alongside.

Leaburn helped Mendonca a lot. Josh only helps the opposing centre-backs look good.

Colin Walsh also rated Carlo very highly.

Paul Williams too and that was in division 1 when it was the top tier.

Ipswich Hatrick was legendary.... Josh that's how you take a pen! Leeeaaaburn!

And don't forget "The Battle Of The Bridge" in the last game if the 87/88 season - Big Carl didn't care which Chelsea player he was going to batter!

When he came round at which time Morts had been sent onto the pitch to try and calm him down IIRC.

Leaburn played at a higher level than Josh, got a lot more assists and in the end scored a few goals as well. Plus he was only about 19 when he led the line in the top division.

To be fair many people were worried the strike wouldn't have enough power to cross the line! Leaburn wasn't exactly a strong striker of the ball...

Leaburn was immense. I remember when he came back after a while out at Tranmere snd he received a mixed reception. But as I said to someone dissing him he might be shit but he's our shit.
    I loved him.

Leaburn. Mendonca was properly pissed off when he was sold.
