was anyone at the ground yesterday - was it the pitch , good bowling or bad batting ?
I went yesterday. Ball was moving around a lot. It was also looked a lot faster than a normal TW wicket which can often be slow paced. When we bowled we had 4 slips for about 20 overs then 3 sometime. Just occasionally went to 2 near end for Trott sometimes. Nearly all the wickets were caught behind, in the slips or lbw.
Think that shows ball was moving as well as fast. Not sure why as cloud was mixed and quite high. In fact high proportion of runs seemed to be 4's as outfield seemed quick.

Today certainly seems like an easier day to bat, maybe the pitch was a bit green yesterday and the grass has burnt off?
I went yesterday, a few of my mates were off and planned to go so i got involved too. Lovely day for it and a few bevvies, my view wasn't that great as we were side on so couldn't really see if it was turning as the rest of the field looked like it was a good pitch so must have been doing something. Quite a good day, although burnt forehead and nose today
Bumble has just asked Atherton how many balls has Billings (sub fielder) faced in English conditions this season? The answer is 48.
And we wonder why Billings can't find any form - instead of carrying the drinks he should be playing some form of cricket.
our next 4 day match starts on Monday. It is day nighter championship game v Middx at Canterbury with the pink ball. the England 50 over series finishes Sunday so he should be available for this match to try and get some batting in before Sunday's final.
Dickson now has 125, the same as Warwickshire got in their entire innings. The 3rd wicket partnership now worth 194, almost our entire first innings total. Very strange the wicket has changed that much

Spoke to a friend earlier who thought that the ball was swinging rather than seaming yesterday and he also thought both teams bowled well and held their catches.
Wasn't there myself but this bloke knows his cricket so I'm inclined to believe him.
The fact that Denly and Trott both got fifties and four or five other Kent batsmen got a start before getting out lends credence to that viewpoint in my opinion.
Today seems typical Tunbridge Wells and we need to set a team with Trott and Bell in the side a big target of 400 even 500 plus.

Hopefully bat 'til lunchtime tomorrow for a lead of almost 500 and that will give us 5 sessions to bowl them out.
