I will take the criticism, it's probably deserved. I made my protest after 26 years I did not renew my season ticket. But I am Charlton through and through, and have been for 50 plus years. I could not face first game of the season sitting by TV. So last minute decision I went. 3/4 of an hour queuing up for a ticket, £3 added to the ticket price. Game ok, I really feel us protesters have won. A British manager ( although top managers in premiership are foreign) not a hopeless Belgium numpty. A few decent players who look like they care( Tony Watt excluded). No silly sofas, but I still hate the Meire Youth waving their flags. I want RD to go and Meire to be dismissed as the incompetent she is. Yes I renewed my season ticket this morning. As I got a credit for the Saturday ticket I only need to go to six games to be in pocket. I do believe I and the protesters are winning.
At the number of people who have returned to The Valley today, as if nothing has gone on & it's all fine now.
Katrien & Roland will be laughing
North stand I'm probably the opposite to you I've got a season ticket this season and had one last season. My guess Is you and some others are now worried that if we start to get some good results over the next few weeks , months the protests will die out. I've only been part of one protest and that was the banner one. I protested that day due to the way they man handled the youngster in one of the games before. To me it seems the protests are partly based on results if we take 10 points out the next 12 we won't see a protest if it's 3 out of 12 there probably will be a protest soon after. The protests and the chants were last season we want Roland out not we want Roland to change. Have the club changed that much over the summer, as someone said on another thread we've still not spent that much money after selling players for millions. Coach to Exeter was also cancelled because not enough interest.

The thing is Chris, I was chanting "we want Roland out", because it's a bit easier than,
"We want Roland out unless, he starts to run Charlton like a proper football club, with a decent League 1 manager and coaches and some decent league 1 players that will give there all for Charlton etc etc etc ".
Squad not big enough, need a striker who may or may not come, back to the academy for players to plug the gaps- still as optimistic as you were on opening day?

I've seen some version of this line used by both sides of the argument. 'You only protest when the team do badly' or 'I protest against the regime, regardless of results'.
Here's the thing - running a club badly and the team performing badly are inextricably linked.
How can they be separated? How can making a pigs ear of finances, recruitment, organisational duties etc etc at board level not impact results on the pitch? Poor ownership/management of the club is at best a catalyst, or at worst the sole cause of poor results.
So for the last three years, while protestors against the poor ownership for off-pitch stuff, what was happening on the pitch? Shambolic performances and relegation. Is that supposed to be some sort of coincidence?
I have given Douchbag and meire plenty of stick on here over the last few years and I've been flagged for going over the top. But we have just started a new season with the best set of players we have had for a while and we have started with a win. Let's just enjoy the moment and hope it continues, there will be plenty of opportunities later on in the season to start moaning if things are not going to plan
Everything's okay then. Where do I buy a season ticket?

That's about 120 up on last season although it was kids for a quid today. Was it free tickets for SE7 residents for the game last year?
