Does anyone know if Rovers have strengthened close season, lost any good players?
I do hope it is agood turn out from our supportes as it seems that they are turning up in numbers.
I know that boycotters won't be so no need to post, but how many of the can't be bothered from last year are going?
They've signed two new Goalkeepers (Adam Smith from Northampton and Sam Slocombe from Blackpool)...
Tom Nichols (Striker) has joined from Peterborough whilst they also got Liam Sercombe (Midfield) who was Oxford Captain and briefly linked with us over the summer.
Outgoings it seems they've lost two players but dont recognise either name

Thanks for the info. I thought they now had mega rich owners and were predicted top 4 this season. Maybe a tighter game than I first thought after last years result.

Looks as though Nichols and Sercombe were the only two fees paid, the latter cant have been more than £150k as think thats the fee that was rumoured when we were linked; Nichols only the other hand had a great time @ Exeter but only got 11-goals in his one season for Peterborough last year so you wouldnt expect more than £500k maybe for him
in other news they've just recieved news that a major stadium redevelopment wont be going ahead as talks have stalled.
Full list of Friendly results... seems as though Corinthian Casuals faced a Bristol Rovers XI rather than their full first team though, so would take some results with a pinch of salt depending on the squad that was put out.
The bookies have them higher than us in terms of favourites, and teh WBA result last week deserves respect, as does our result against Ipswich. I thin we have to assume they are going to be tougher to beat than they were last season. i think last season, we didn't like busy midfields and their midfield certainly wasn't that. They suited us as we do have some decent players. I honestly don't know if they still suit us or not but I suspect we have to be at our best. On paper we seem to have a tough start, which is probably a good thing -probably!
After Saturday's performance, I'm that confident of a Charlton win, I'm going to raid my piggy bank, go to the local bookmaker and have 20p on a 3-1 win
Last season't results will motivate them...but I suspect that once/if we take the lead a certain amount of "here we go again" feelings will creep in to their players...

Half our team is Charlton mind. If it pisses down we could take a collective field trip. Leave our bags in @AshBurton 's car and make the hallowed journey

I've renewed my season ticket. Mainly because this is the most optimistic it's been in about 3-4 years. Seems that KR has been allowed to make some of his own decisions. Not jumping to conclusions but perhaps lessons have been learnt from previous pre-seasons where some decisions were definitely made from the top of the hierarchy. Lets hope it all comes together come Saturday at 3pm.
"I just want to watch one or two more videos of Bristol Rovers and pick players that suit their weaknesses or negate the opposition.”
I mean ideally this should go without saying, but this is exactly how you should pick your starters. In the modern era where everyone has some squad depth, it's far more important to choose the 11 that line up best against the opposition as opposed to having a static first XI. I think it'll be particularly important for us as we have maybe 15 players pushing for starting births.
i know hes trying, but i just cant help the feeling this is all going to end badly for karl, we ended the season with mike bassett and were starting it with mourinho.
i feel like management and katrien alike are far too confident, but hopefully it doesnt but when it does go wrong, they have very little backup.
