How do the Tories need to change?

  • This is an area some of them need to change in. I scattered the ashes of my uncle in the Italian mountains in May. He was a socialist and wanted his ashes scatterred where he was based during the war with fellow socialists - many of whom died - fighting the Nazis. He nearly was killed himself. It is outrageous that people's ignorance of history is so poor they can make such an insulting statement publically. It is equally outrageous he has not been sacked on the spot.

Read that story earlier. Absolute disgrace. Every cloud etc, at least Brexit will see brain dead clowns like this out on their arses.

Reading a great book by Thomas Piketty - Capital in the twenty first century - it revolves around a basic formula (r>g). I would advise anybody with an open mind who wants to try to make sense of the growing inequality in the world, not just UK, to read it. This has nothing to do with people who earn 100k a year or have a million pounds or two. This is the real wealth that is becoming increasingly concentrated into a tiny percentage of the population. It is not earned wealth but inherited wealth. Those debating who the elite are and whether they exist, may get some clues after reading the book.

Not wanting to get into arguments over it - just recommending this accessible book full of data to those that may be interested.
  • Oh look!
'Working class people, I know lets all vote Tory, what could go wrong?'

    Well done, very well done!

So the poor are at similar levels in all of the countries listed, (in Greenie's graph).
But the UK has far more rich.
So if we can just force most of the rich out of the country, we'll be the same as rest.
    Welcome Jeremy Corbyn

    Oh dear!
  • Is it that surprising? I think It shows the poorest aren’t as poor as some other countries like Germany, Italy & France. The rich doesn’t surprise me as there is a lot of foreign wealth in the UK compared to other countries. Or am I misreading the graph?

Think you’re misreading the graph, one country’s national average could be a lot different to another. They’re not directly comparing country to country.

It’s just a visual way to compare the gap between rich and poor for each developed country. It uses the national average as a benchmark for each individual country.

Conclusion "This is because of the way the data is collected, rather than real world effects. Using other measures the UK’s income inequality is about average compared to similar countries."

Some financial consolidation (and more than a lot deserve in my view) but nothing compared to their current renumeration and loss of status. UKIP mob in particular have nowhere to go.
  • The UK has six of the ten poorest regions in Northern Europe. It does have two of the richest in the top ten - West and East Inner London.
  • This Dominic Raab fella knows a thing or two. Where have they got him from? All my career has been in sales and the thing about it is, until someone picks up the phone, you don’t know how the hell they’ll get on. I’m starting to think that the Tory party policy on picking cabinet members is pretty much the same. can they espouse Tory values in an interview, YES, give them a job. When the new starter gets on the phone and can’t even dial the number, it’s that familiar ‘oh well, nothing ventured etc’. As we see yet another tool with very little up top make a fool of himself, are they saying ‘oh well, nothing ventured’?

    Utter shambles of a party

And another one gone, and another one gone
    Another one bites the dust.

Still, he can always get a job as a snooker pundit.
  • Good job McVey finally showed a bit of initiative & fecked off of her own accord then!

No way, I have waited 40 years for this.

I was hoping you would wade in with how they deserved to suffer because on the one hand they have been (rightly) lauding ex-servicemen whilst on the other hand (and in reality) they have cut or closed every support mechanism that was in place to support returning service personnel. I heard an interview with somebody who said that there are currently 13,000 homeless ex service men and women, if true that is a disgrace. All on the Tories watch.

So can I carry on kicking?
    Go on then XX 😉
  • Ken Clarke on Twitter:

“I’ve been sat up in bed for hours, whisky on the bedside table, soft jazz playing in the background, trying to think if I’ve worked with a more idiotic bunch of self centred bastards in my nearly 50 years as a MP.

Nope, still can’t think of any. Time for another bottle.”

    Says it all really.

KC is lying in bed, one bottle down anf thinking about work?

If you need to think about work, just decide what order you'd smash your female coworkers in and have a test fire.

Tories cant even do bedtime properly.

Maybe he did and his missus caught him so he made something up and put it on twitter to cover his tracks.

He's a dirty old pervert and keep his hands off his honourable member.

    It's a spoof account.

  • Quote: The UK government has inflicted “great misery” on its people with “punitive, mean-spirited, and often callous” austerity policies driven by a political desire to undertake social re-engineering rather than economic necessity, the United Nations poverty envoy has found.

Philip Alston, the UN’s rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, ended a two-week fact-finding mission to the UK with a stinging declaration that despite being the world’s fifth largest economy, levels of child poverty are “not just a disgrace, but a social calamity and an economic disaster”.

And there's a lot more like that...

    https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/nov/16/uk-austerity-has-inflicted-great-misery-on-citizens-un-says

But what else do you expect from a party where "must be a sociopath" is part of the job description for MPs?

They're simply driving the feckless to suicide, preferably in a ditch where hard-working proper folk can't see them. Waste disposal program par excellence! Bravo Tories
