Found out yesterday that the support act for his show is a band consisting of Graham Coxon (Blur) Matt Bellamy (Muse) and others called Dr Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band. Their set consists entirely of Beatles track, should be good.
Last night instead of watching a load of dross from Blackpool, I watched something magical from the Valley. I refer of course to @Henry Irving 's video containing significant footage from the 1974 Who concert. I recommend it unreservedly. Even though you have to sit through too much of Melvyn Bragg interviewing Townshend. Just when I was thinking "I've been trolled by that bastard Henry" the scene switches to the Valley turnstiles.
For me the abiding memory of the concert is of the sun suddenly disappearing below the Valley just as the loop of Baba O'Reilly starts up. That is well captured on the film. It seems to be a BBC documentary from the time, with a couple of unrelated Who studio efforts before and after it.
If you are a fan, and especially if you were there, you have to own a copy of this. It's a video of a great day in your life.
And someone, somewhere is sitting on footage of the entire set....
Just done a couple of ideas for a who image I am putting together, one based on the Tangelwood concert, and the Woodstock finale when Pete throws his guitar to the audience.
Just seen this thread. Great band. I'm a bit younger than some but did get to see them at Hyde park a couple of years ago. Still very good. Love who's next and the early singles such as can't explain.
Fantastic night, the support were superb. Mainly Who tracks with a few solo hits thrown in from Daltrey.

My favourite band of all time. Simply because they are the greatest band of all time.
Seen them a number of times but only once since Moony died.
So many great songs apart from the 'big hits'. As @PragueAddick already mentioned This song is over is sadly overlooked. Slip kid from By Numbers is a masterpiece of angst, disillusion and frustration.
Who I am by Pete is a good read for Who fans and, if you haven't seen it, check out the film Lambert and Stamp.
Wonder if they'll do any more gigs - never seen them and would love to even though it's not the same without Moon and Entwistle. They've looked in good form in the recent live footage I've seen with Roger Daltrey in great voice.

Great film...still makes me chuckle The Who touring with Hermans Hermits, pure pop followed by utter carnage.
Watched the programme tonight. Its not an album I know much about (apart from the cover) although 3 of the songs appear on the album Meaty Beaty Big & Bouncy that I bought about 40 years ago.
Is it me or does Pete Townsend have a strange obsession around sex. Songs like Pictures of Lily (porn) Fiddle About (pedophilia) and one tonight about Betty's shaking hands (masterbation ?). Wont even go near his previous run in with the law.....but I get the distinct impression he has (had) some issues in his life which he seems to address through songwriting.

Agree with Henry, most pop songs are about love and sex, I think a lot of the time people wrote stuff to see what they could get away with, it was a small victory to get something on the charts that Mary Whitehouse etc didn’t realise was a bit rude.
Going further back, the Goons used to slip in lots of quite risque old army jokes and phrases, Harry Secombe said they would get letters of complaint six months later from old Duchesses in Cheltenham who shouldn’t have known the joke in the first place.
