So we are destined to suffer the indignity of being a Man City second X1 full of overpaid superstars and brilliant youth products who can only hope to be a top ten premiership club and compete in Europe.
Sounds like the end game here is City will be sold on at some point (started last month with the US investment) and we'll eventually become Sheikh Mansours number one club who go on to dominate European football for decades
Oh my gawd how terrible, all those trophies, what would we moan about?
Only getting 10 loyalty points for watching Charlton away to Crvena Zvezda while also earning the same 10 points watching Charlton away to Barcelona.
Valley Gold only fans getting first dibs on Barcelona away tickets.
Valley Express leaving Larkfield 3 weeks before the game. The suggested train routes thread for that one would spark orgasms.
First stop, Bexleyheath, then Bromley and then Charlton.
You can almost feel the duffness of this takeover . unlike some , I’m happy for it to go through whatever (I want rid of the poison) worse comes to worse some other bunch of clowns pick us up on the cheap after and we can all get over excited again
That sounds promising and the first time I’ve seen TN’s personal wealth mentioned. Is several hundred million enough ? or does he have the Sheiks backing ?
"Several hundred million" is enough but he's not going to risk a big proportion of his personal wealth on a punt. He also carries the name and respect of the Sheikh and I am pretty sure he wouldn't be endangering that by under investing in a football club and risking it reflecting poorly on the Sheikh. Logically this is using the wealth of the ADBD funds and has the Sheikh's blessing. What appears clear is they have sorted out the former Directors loans, have got the money to buy Duchatelet out as well as funds to demonstrate two years of operating costs. That's the thick end of £100m, so we can't see this as anything but a very serious and determined takeover.
Having said that, I wouldn't think they are going to start competing with Man City or Chelsea in the transfer market and that they have a sensible plan to invest as the club succeeds and grows. It would be brilliant to see a promotion challenge and some activity towards expanding the ground capacity to capitalise on a promotion when we could realistically take our home gates above 30,000 and once again significantly increase gate receipts and commercial activity. That would also demonstrate a longer term commitment to the club.
Off topic I know but have @Charenteaddick and @OggyRed thought about forming Cornish Addicks Supporters group then one of you can attend the Fan's Forum metings.............Oh hang on a minute 😉
