I wouldn't worry about a thing personally. They have made.to much noise and been to visual for.it to go belly up now. Those with the so called.inside knowledge of tje "done.deal" imminent" and the all news about Aussies was.wrong Factor in that when the new owners came in it was a complete shock proves that there is no ITK and we should just sit tight till it happens. Feck me we have waited long enough another few weeks will not matter..

If it eats too much into the transfer window then it will matter.
One thing has become very clear to me. A number of people on this forum have an anxiety disorder
This, Que sera, sera.............all the worrying in the world ain't gonna change a thing and in any case life is too short. Chill out everyone and enjoy the festive season.
If they are as serious and as wealthy as reported how on earth did they not have proof of funds lined up when going for the EFL interviews ?
It doesn’t sound right to me .
Who said they didn't have everything lined up?
This. I think some people are adding 2 plus 2 and making 5. Unless I've missed something (which is quite possible) I genuinely can't see what all the angst is about since those press releases were shared. Okay, it may not happen in time for the start of the window, but that's just sods law and how it goes imo
The amount of panicking going on right now is staggering. It hasn't been 3 weeks yet, no-one knew of the interested party beforehand, and they are happy with the timeframes involved and where they are currently at in the process, so can everyone chill the hell out?
theres no panic, but we are a) Charlton fans b) concerned we will have enough time to get the right players through the door c) royally fucked if we don't get sold and in good time, due to the injury crisis and points deficit thats building up

Totally accept all of that, but would just love to know what the catalyst is for it since those BBC Sport releases were shared mate
I do wonder sometimes why the very erudite and experienced ex corporate international banker Grapevine goes to the lengths he does to explain the intricacies and workings of such investments being funded and completed. Some posters either don't read what he writes or chose to ignore his words of wisdom as presumably they'd rather have a negative outlook so as not to be disappointed in the long run if the deal falls through.
I can understand an impatient desire for a swift conclusion to the Duchatelet era of disastrous mismanagement but we are only 3 weeks on from the ESI announcement! No one has the inside track on the complexities of the deal not even Grapevine however his take on matters has far more credibility than anything I've read on here to the contrary. I'm relaxed because in the words of LB what will be will be.
Does anyone know if the ex-Director creditors have been approached by ESI with an offer to buy out the debts?
It's possible that it's ESI stalling, rather than the EFL, to get clean title first.
This was done well in advance of the announcement, but obviously the money won’t be paid prior to EFL approval. I don’t believe we are within the anticipated timescales, because they began before November 29th, and are now being stretched for PR purposes.

What do you mean by being stretched for PR purposes?. What is it you know or understand?
This is definitely proof of source of funds... I can imagine there is a huge web on this front and the EFL are being more careful than ever to dot the Is and cross the Ts... I'm still bragging to my mates that we are one of the richest clubs in the world without any worry of it coming back to bite me
If they are super confident that everything is fine and they can get it through at anytime, then timing could be planned.
I can think of some advantages as long as the scouting and contacts have been made to make the signings we would like. It would create a wave of support and enthusiasm and drive us forward.

I like this idea. It would fit in with all the Instagram posts. I think people ITK may be aware of this 😉

Rubbish....how many clubs do their business at the start of the window and tend to leave it till the last 48 hours as things may change if key players get injuries. As we are also in the middle of a takeover no one will certainly be moving out till it’s either done or fallen through.

From a PR perspective you want everything to look smooth and under control, which benefits the public image of your clients. You don't want any suggestion that they are struggling to get the deal over the line, if that is the case.
The EFL has more mixed interests, because it knows that fans will blame them for holding things up if they believe everything is in place and there is no reason to delay. As I said earlier, RD is banging the table and demanding the EFL get it done. He is threatening to go public. They are not within his timescale.
My view, for the time being anyway, is let the EFL do their job. But the rules actually say, I believe, that bidders should give the EFL ten days' notice or similar. The EFL didn't find out about it on November 29th.

I don't remember a specific time scale. The rules just say that one will be agreed between EFL and purchaser, no length of time mentioned. They will get back to them within I think 5 days to inform them of the time scale.

Shame it’s September 2020.
