Theres logic in your post and that’s where I think your argument falls over.
Of course we know that Roland doesn’t do things logically and is completely irrational most of the time. As he showed with his ridiculous and vindictive statement yesterday.
However, that’s where I truly believe that someone or more than just one person/group spoke to him before he spoke to Bowyer again and warned him of the consequences if it wasn’t resolved favourably to the club. It means he would have been cutting his nose off to spite his face. To keep the attractiveness of selling the club was to keep Bowyer, so he was forced to reconsider and here we are today.
I think it was pointed out to him that the anger of the fans would increase tenfold in Bowyer left and that he could expect more than a couple of visits to his home town. We all know how much he hates that.so I believe he buckled.
My money's on the Roland and Lee partnership continuing rather like the successful pop duo Peters and Lee from the 1970s.
Their most famous hit was Welcome Home and like the Charlton duo, one was talented, popular and fair-haired and the other was blind and couldn't play the piano very well.
Just had a phone call from somebody who has in the past been good with info, but also I've been crucified when they were wrong too.
Apparently there are TWO offers that have been "accepted" - Dalman, whose nose has been put out of joint by RD leaking the offer to the press and a consortium backed "mainly" by Chinese money. Muir's offer is not in the running - they have changed their deal structure way too many times and RD is not interested in this compared to the other two deals.
Both parties have shown funds. Both parties have completed Due Diligence. Roland has been playing both parties off against each other to try and eek out the best deal possible.
Both parties are becoming impatient. The consortium have said, they don't mind if it is no, but they want to know one way or the other.
Apparently the end game is approaching.
I do not believe nor disbelieve the phone call - I am only telling you what I was told.

Remember them being top billing when I was working at a holiday camp. My lips are sealed.

Any identity as to the other offer, Supaclive?
They've been a bit hit n miss when they've purchased English clubs
I am however sure that we need rid of RD sooner rather than later!
