Aussie silence is deafening. If They thought this was going to go through surely they would let a bit of positive information out. As it is we are going down the tubes with Roland selling anything not nailed down

I said the other day they might just as well put out a statement saying they’ve pulled out just to put us out of our misery.
silly thing to do if they have not pulled out though

  • Far beyond a joke now.

Is it not about time the likes of Maurice Hatter ,Michael Grade,Keith Peacock, and whoever else is, or has been involved in a serious capacity over the years speaks publicly about the despicable state of affairs going on at this club.

What would be the benefit of doing so ?

If the Aussies buy Charlton, I’ll have ‘I love Roland’ tattooed on my arse.

It is looking like matters may be coming to a head this week.

Why what have you heard @Covered End? Or just going on @jimmyseed saying there will be talks this week?
Going on the painful 2 weeks JS told us about, which ends this week.
    The sale of more players.
Bowyer saying Bauer had been offered a new contract & Bauer saying he hasn't.

Thought I read somewhere @PragueAddick that ROT had posted something through the door of his (RDs) flat. Assuming if wasn't a turd, was it ROT canvassing material? any ideas?

Don't think this was anything to do with ROT. Just an individual delivering a message on behalf of @blackpool72
And very much appreciated it was.

Fuck me, is this what it's come to - people arguing about whether the old fucker is asset stripping or not?

The font of all knowledge that is Wikipedia (I know) says this:

Asset stripping is a term used to refer to the practice of selling off a company's assets in order to improve returns for equity investors. With a lower level of assets, it is maintained, the business is rendered financially less stable or viable.

Certainly sounds like it to me. Reducing liabilities = improving returns for equity investors, and we only have one of those.

But either way, it matters not. There is quite clearly only one person to blame for the current 4+ year shitfest we are enduring and to suggest there is even a morsel of blame falling elsewhere, quite frankly, comes across as pie in the sky heatwave induced jibbering bollocks.

I don’t think anyone anywhere has suggested there is anyone to blame than RD for all of this

If it turns out that the Aussies made false bids in order to secure the club without having the funds in place that imo is nothing to do with the situation we have with RD but is well worthy of discussion debate and criticism
    WTF????

They don’t have the money so why out bid people who do there are questions that need to be asked

And they have never had the money
nla......your assertion has always struck me as slightly misleading.
What ‘exactly’ do you mean....... as in “don’t have the money?”
What you are saying (I guess), is that as a consortium set up they haven’t found the required amount of financing from enough backers to spread the costs.
I say this because Muir alone easily has the finance to come up with in order to fly solo if he so wished.....so what you should really be saying is that they(in the shape of Muir alone), do have the money but are simply not prepared to spend it on Goldfingers unrealistic asking price.
Your continually saying they (Muir) don’t have the money is therefore somewhat inaccurate........they most certainly DO have the money but are they prepared to stump up with it.......it would seem that for one reason or another they aren’t.
It’s a moot point I know, but for the sake of clarity you must understand that when you continue to say they don’t have the money it’s somewhat misleading.
Well it is to me anyway.
One of their investors has the money personally to do it all but chooses not to

The consortium it’s self does not have the money in place to purchase the club

Agreed. It's not the wealth of the bidders, rather their willingness to part with some of that wealth.

And your name is Cedric and it's Friday - proof if it was needed that Uncle Dickie is a pathological liar.
Your first paragraph is the same as RD.

RE: Bowyer walking I think it depends on his connection with the club

Him and Jackson are probably more aware of how fucked we are than the fans, it might not do them or their reputations any good by staying yet if they have a real affinity with the club (which I think they do), their aim will probably be keeping us from well and truly sinking

If Bowyer / Jackson go then we really should be worried as dont think there is anyone else at the club who cares (Euell surely doesnt want to be involved with the First Team), means the new man coming in will be a proper Roland stooge, someone who isnt going to care about results and will barely go through the motions of taking charge

Last time Euell was involved with the first team he didn't get the appropriate pay adjustment.
  • So what do we think will happen in the next few days?

Bauer, Aribo and Ajose will be sold
    The takeover will collapse
Murray will release a statement blaming the Aussies
We have to soldier on with a senior squad of 15 players plus the development squad
    All of the above
  • Salford away next season looks tempting

Yep and further cost cutting with the academy players having to wash their own kits and having to give Big Tones motor a wax in the car park.

It's a good job @ElfsborgAddick posts on here then to give us the low down on travel and pubs.

They did say ‘couple of difficult weeks ahead but it’ll be worthwhile in the end’. That could be wildly optimistic for all I know, but we’re certainly having the difficult weeks right now. Let’s hope we get the worthwhile bit next.

    No chance.
Your telling me after letting Josh go on the cheap and maybe aribo or Bauer the Aussies won't rearrange their valuation of the club.
And if the Aussies are knocking money off Roland will be happy with it.
  • At the risk of stating the b******g obvious, this is the worst state of affairs I have seen since starting supporting the club in 1962. Why in God's name would anyone want to take up supporting this club nowadays? Those that are already, are just cursed. Part of me feels just go into administration and don't come out of it and put us out of our misery!
  • Club in crisis Its way past that

I was told today by the trolley collector at Asda that the Aussies will not complete without clean title and they are waiting for the Rat to sort out the Directors loans. Lol

Yeah, stroking my head after they've chopped it off and kept it in their fridge as a souvineer.
  • It's no coincidence that GM said "it's going to be a difficult 2 weeks" with the 2 weeks ending when the window shuts.

With the situation were in now with players leaving with no budget for replacements. I think there is some sort of agreement between Roland and Aussies for this to be happening for unknown reasons as of yet that will benefit the sale being finalised.

I believe the sale will go through soon after window shuts. Hence "it will be wortwhile". As it will be, thinking in long term.

And the Aussies might be able to have a budget in pace ready in time for loans to come in. Just my personel opinion on things..
  • Why would any manager at this level walk away from any job.....other than for reasons of health or similar.

LB may love the club.....but at the end of the day it's a job. If he was offered the Millwall job on a fair whack of wedge - he'd take it I'm sure.

Some people. Particularly those that can afford to do so have morals and principles that they won’t have messed with. I’m guessing LB is not the man to take being undermined very well.

    Step forward Mel Baroni.

  • This is the last week for RD to get money in, other than from fans (good luck with that) or from the new owners paying for the club. It's his last chance to loot the roster - and if he can do so few can doubt that he will. Let this be the final week the clowns run the circus.

Drink in Manchester city centre for this then tram it in. Takes 20 minutes.
  • We are back in the position where Curbs and Gritt etc started the rebuild.
Maybe that is what the Aussies wanted because it's now so rotten the only way is up.

But why would the Aussies just accept Duchâtelet trashing the asset that they are about to purchase at great expense? It just doesn’t make any sense.
I dont want to speculate but i will take a guess that maybe the Aussies have agreed to give Roland until end of transfer window to raise as much money as he can from player sales.

To help contribute towards clearing director loans. So it's less money he's having to pay with his own money, to make sale go through.

    Just speculation though.

Which is just about what I’ve said, and certainly what I hope. [Edit: not the trashing by RD obviously]

It almost feels like Roland is blowing up the bridges behind his desperate withdrawal.
